Are roulettes broken? especially leveling and trial roulette

I have no faith in this games random number generator.

I have three pages of mounts...but almost without fail when I summon one it'll be from a much smaller group of about a dozen or so. Many of them NEVER come up.

And no, I'm not using favorites.

I love how you mentioned this. I was talking about this with someone just a few days ago and how on some days you can get certain mounts with a higher frequency than others. Like, today you could summon your mount and every 4 attempts you may get the Borealis horse and Gooblue. RNG is funny like that.

But if you're partying with randoms, whoever is waiting for help -- you might be partied with them at whatever dungeon they are in. There are a lot of new players.
If someone queues almost naked, the party will be queued where the lowest ilvl is the highest rating in queue.
If you queue as a full party, you can match the level average so you can get something more interesting.

I'm not sure about Levelling or Trial roulettes but Alliance roulette is basically 100% Crystal tower at this point. I would kill for a Nier raid or an Ivalice raid at some point instead of the same 2 raids over and over.

That's mostly due to a lot of people not wanting "hard" content that "fails most of the time" and unequipping gear so their ilevel is too low for those other raids.

I think I read somewhere, relitively recently too that the human mind has trouble with true randomness and the sheer number of times you'll see repetition.

One expert suggested that one way to know if something is truly random, or if a human just made up a bunch of numbers(like rolling dice for instance) is that the actual random dice rolls will have long strings of repetiton where as human generated "randomness" will not.

All of that speculation aside however....

DR is not strictly random, its also deteremined by who is queing up for certian duties, in order to help THOSE folks get through their content faster. You're simply being given a bonus load of EXP to help, otherwise folks would be stuck unable to progress through the MSQ because nobody could be assed to do old content with them. *shrug*

TL DR;

DR isn't necessary random, and true random doesn't mean no repetition

You can also go into the Roulette Settings and Enabled Limited Leveling Roulette so you get a dungeon within 7 levels of your current level.

I seriously hope you're paying attention to what you're saying.

You know Copper is one of the first 3 dungeons, and that means you got queued with someone thay MAYBE ONLY has those 3 dungeons, and Ifrit up.

Because you dont see the first time bonus doesnt mean you're not playing with someone on that level bracket.

Ifrit normal is my favorite leveling roulette, and every once in a while i get Titan or Garuda (Garuda was my last primal for leveling roulette i got).

Normally I'd prefer Copied Factory over anything related to Crystal Tower, but I keep getting thrown into clown shows where fights are dragging on longer than they did on patch day, and people managing to wipe to the add phase of Engels and 9S because they won't separate them.

I've not yet had the pleasure of wiping to 9S adds phase, but i did get to experience a wipe on Engels because tanks forgot to stance and we had all 3 adds super stacked lol.

It was funny, my wife and me were laughing our asses off because we had NEVER in our months playing together, seen a copy factory wipe, specially that one. She was surprised because she had never seen the "Down for the count" in any NieR raid, and i was like : OH, Engels has 100 in his count, we took too long due the stacking.

Only applies if you're with other 4 people. Else only random is available. And random means ANY DUNGEON.

I think its known well that duty finder will queue you with whoever is looking for a specific dungeon/trial for msq, if needed and the job/role composition allows it.

No, they are not broken. Naked queueing is kind of a thing, but it is honestly a wasted effort considering the perpetual state of new players coming into the game. Plus, I would wager most players would rather be placed in higher level content when they use roulettes.

The likelihood that you're grouped with a low level player making their way through is just really high. Especially right now.

Since Endwalker i get Copperbell mine like 70% of the time it's insane.
There's so many dungeons in the game, it's really suspicious how often i get the same one all the time.
Same for trials roulette, i get moggle king so often omg
Also for some reasons in roulette 50/60/70/80 i get Xelphatol very often too wich is VERY surprising considering that prior to endwalker, the last time i did this dungeon was in stormblood i think...

I know what you are probably thinking, the game is extremely popular and there's lots of newcomer, but the thing is, i actually rarely get the newcomer bonus

It could be that there are newer players as well as people taking advantage of the time to level tanks. I know that's what I did. I went back and started warrior and dark knight from the start, so I was running early game dungeons a lot for a while. I sure got really sick of Haukke Manor and Cutter's Cry...

Haven't had any trouble with my roulettes though. I tend to get a good mix of dungeons and trials.
