One would hope it would be a unique set for each ear style. It was something I had sort of assumed when, again, the ears were pushed out as replacing our hat slot. You're right... Yeah. But how would that work with the floppy ears? If SE ever does revisit the character customization options it'd be nice to have a more expanded variety quirks.. like you said, the twitchy ears - aslong as it's optional and I can keep my lovely baguette ears then I'm all for it.
Do they? Every time I look at a viera their ears are pretty much harder than a dance pole.
Granted, I haven't stopped to look at them fishing for details, but physics are noticeable if we're talking of miqo'tes for example.
If the baguette aspect of it is a design choice... Well, I suppose it is a matter of taste.
Miqote don't have physics on their ears when they run or attack. They're animated in emotes but are otherwise stationary :P
Even genius modders of Fallout 4 yet able to create physice for ears.....Do they? Every time I look at a viera their ears are pretty much harder than a dance pole.

What are you asking again?
Everyone has a right to be upset about this. But realizing why what's happening is happening is important for perspective.I don’t think it was accidental, but it was sloppy and the poor communication since releasing them has honestly left the worst taste in my mouth. When they were first released, these issues weren’t as unacceptable, but with every patch that has some players waiting with baited breath that they might get SOMETHING, I can’t believe anyone wouldn’t think they’re justified in feeling disappointed and hurt. At least let the cat men change face without spending money, I don’t care if it “doesn’t make sense” in the lore. Sometimes you should negotiate; if they didn’t want to give them more customization, then give a little on your “lore” end to let them have /something/.
Viera were never intended to have fully worked headgear ... so without a huge graphics engine update, I don't see them ever coming up with a satisfactory solution for those ears.
Hrothgar, I don't even know if it's possible to make "changing heads" a non CC feature, as it may change how things are programmed to sit on the face. They haven't given people eye contacts/ eye changing for free, IDK if they could make face changing a thing on the programming side without massive changes to the aesthetician.
The devs going for Pantera-like females makes the most sense when you look at how they keep depicting the females (In game Pantera gif for ref).My theory is they're trying to make them attractive, but the problem is hroths are too furry and they want to humanize them, but then they remember us Catgirls already exist, so they don't know what to do. Can't make them too humanlike, because female Miqo'te already exist. Try making them look as furry as the males, and it makes them extremely difficult to make attractive. They should just do what others have suggested and make them look like female Pantera and call it a day (just with tails and human feet like the male Hroths ofc).
To put it simply, I think they keep showing them looking like Mithra-x-Viera for a reason.
I could also see them using a Loporrit like face as the base if they did go for a more animal look, to make them more like cute smaller breeds of cats face wise (I still expect them to be Viera/ Elezen tall). Loporrits are more expressive than Hrothgar faces, and they're well received. Could tell they put an oddly high amount of effort and attention into their faces compared to other NPC races.
Can't they just modify existing female Rod?My theory is they're trying to make them attractive, but the problem is hroths are too furry and they want to humanize them, but then they remember us Catgirls already exist, so they don't know what to do. My first impression with female rod is they are a beastmen race and very confused why people asking for female Hrothgar when we already have female Rod
Wait, what? What does that even mean? lmao What fallout has anything to do with this discussion?
Don't get me wrong, when I talked about hard baguette ears I wasn't saying that they have next to zero animations or whatever and thus, miqo'tes are full of them all the time. I'm just saying that, personally, they pass me a weird stiff impression. A _lot_ of my male miqo friends turned into viera and while playing with them the difference is kinda noticeable, that's all.
As I said, this might be a dev choice and by design (who knows) and some players, as this thread showed, might even prefer this. The lampost ears just turned into a running joke between my friend group. If you like the animations and think that they're good enough, whatever, as I said, taste is taste.

I was just pointing out that you're conflating animation and physics. They're two different things. Miqote ears are animated in emotes but do not have movement physics. Viera ears have movement physics but are not animated in emotes.Don't get me wrong, when I talked about hard baguette ears I wasn't saying that they have next to zero animations or whatever and thus, miqo'tes are full of them all the time. My bad. I basically meant MOVING THE BREAD, and used the word that seemed the most close to describe it. I wasn't going into specifics.
probably because viera have different ear types and miqote dont. infact miqo ears probably only have one bone each.
