it's not *the* solution but it is *a* solution for when after about 5 years of feedback we get nothing but "yeah its coming". i'd be okay if the racial hair didn't work with hats or whatever since the ones added to viera already have that second hair model for when you wear hats in use for all of the other races

It's still kind of like when you ask a windows question in a windows forum and people shout "just use linux"... Yes, mods might be an option that exists, but it doesn't solve the actual problem, just covers it up for you personally on your end of the screen. For many people this might be enough and if you're one of them, more power to you, but it's not really a sufficient workaround.

I'm not risking my account and a permanent ban just for something that should already be in the game. I've talked with multiple Gms and they have a consensus that using mods even for viera hats = perma ban if caught.

you're in luck because there is a mod for that too

Unfortunately, I don't think that's a solution for console players. As far as I'm aware, mods are only available on PC. FFXIV's playerbase have been increasing in Playstation and Xbox as well, so it causes more players to feel disgruntled and excluded overtime.

I wasn't really expecting anything, SE seems like they really want to get Viera players to forget about their broken half-finished race, but they won't say that in fear that the people who play it will leave the game.
This game of stringing us along over and over with will they - won't they about being able to wear hats is incredibly stupid and it's getting really old.

They will, just we dont really know when.

It's never going to happen. They just don't want to admit it. So they lie with the "we're working on it" deflection whenever it's brought up.

This graphics update and release of Hrothgals was really their last chance to show us it will ever get done. It's not.

I have to agree with this, many of my friends got the things they wanted out of the game due to mods. The hat mods and many other ones make the game's shortcomings bearable. Big F if you're on console though.

Personally I'm gone after msq, square enix keeps proving that the game's in maintenance mode since endwalker. But hey here's more umbrellas!
