Form and Function looks as good as I would have hoped, to be honest? They did their best with what they had to work with - at least they bothered to edit it and didn't leave the braid fully clipping under the ears. If they completely removed the braid it wouldn't even be the same hairstyle. Looks like they started with the Miq'ote model of the hair, deleted the braid between the ear area and added even more floof to the sides of the head in an attempt to make the remaining braided areas look as natural as possible. It's not perfect, but it's acceptable enough and doesn't particularly stand out unless you're really anal about this kind of thing. At least the bangs are pretty and flattering. People will get a lot of use out of this one for sure.



On the Hroth side of things these two look awesome, especially the ponytail on the left. It really suits this race. Hrothgar W this patch.

Im pretty anal about it, I would have preferred they simply remove the braid and left the cute hairstyle as it is. But I was really not expecting them to do it any differently than what they did. Same with the 2B, I feel like they should have just removed the band.

I found the pic for female hairstyles btw, Idk if I have managed to remove all we have gotten. I know I am missing one pvp hairstyle and the new short one from maps bc it is just ugly imo. https://imgur.com/a/f9mAdvL

I think if they had removed the headhand and braid we would have a camp of people complaining that the hairstyles are not the same without those details or asking why Viera get new versions of the styles that none of the other races have access to. I agree it probably would have been the only fully ideal solution aesthetically speaking but for this one in particular I don't find it problematic to assume the hair is braided starting below the ears on both sides and then tucked in somewhere at the nape of the neck. As long as it's not clipping under the ears like the existing mod I'm satisfied.



There are a handful of styles missing from your list. I will use it to make a full update after 6.5 when we know what other 4 hairstyles we're getting if you don't mind.

I vehemently agree! These hairs look wonderful on Hrothgar, especially the one on the right.

3D modeller here! From what I have seen of this hairstyle it is made as 1 unit, which means the mesh has been baked to be a lower poly mesh. You do this by "baking" a high poly mesh with a low poly one, this will give the mesh the same amount of polygons as the low poly version while keeping the look of the higher poly mesh. The upside of this technique is that it causes a minimum amount of strain on the program to render it, the downside however is that it is a bee with an itch to modify or edit it afterwards. I don't know when exactly this hairstyle was added, but I know that I do not envy the person who had to go through the files just to find the hairstyle 3D file, un-bake it, do the edits necessary and then bake it again.

Judging from what I can see so far, it looks decent enough (definitely not as egregious as the 2b hair).

Patch is up for download which means someone should be able to go through the files to find what's new as they have in the past. I'm a console player myself so I can't do it. If not I'll just check in the morning and post pictures that I find.

EDIT: They did remove the braid between the ears on Form & Function but they added some shading on top and an extra piece of hair falling over the braid on the side so it looks so much nicer than how they did the 2B hair.

All in all a wonderful batch that I think will leave most people satisfied for a while. The two remaining heavily desired modern aesthetics styles and the lovely shaggy Shadowbringers hairstyle that looks great on my male model. All that remains now are the Mogstation styles which it seems they've more-or-less left for last on purpose. Well, those and Curls + Wedding.
