Now it's more players of races that can't make use of hats with the introduction of male viera. And it's very weird that you have that reaper hat that can be used without problem. You have those cowl chest pieces with "hood" that can be used without problems. But regular hats. Nope.

The reason is that viera don't have a "wearing-a-hat" mesh for their hairstyles (or just not released yet?). So any hood or hat which removes hair can work but if it shows hair they just don't allow us to wear it... idk why they need this long to create hair meshes which work because we have like what, 6 hairstlyes? With both genders just 12 with different bangs, like come on, it can't be that hard or take that much time to create the alternative mesh. Really angers me since I have mogshop outfits which I only bought for a hat and now I can't even wear that and we keep getting events with hats we can't even use lmao

9 hairstyles each gender (ofc discarding the variations of bangs/etc). However bear in mind that, much like the old hairstyles, some "wearing-a-hat" versions can be used across multiple styles that have a very similar appearance.

But then, back to these available helms, there is an inconsistency there as well, because a lot of old items that will not show any hair are not available at all.

The Helm of Light, for example... the top is flat, it shows no hair under. The ears could just clip through it without any issue.

Truth be told, for this tophat in specific (looking precisely to its shape and 3D mesh) I don't know how it would accomodate those ears. Unless they would just sit inside the hat (thus hiding them on the model).

But at the very least they could have the nose being displayed.

I saw female viera wear it (with mods) and it looks okay, a little silly but it fits the clown style I guess. Just let us players deal with what clipping we are okay or not..
and yeah, you are right they are very inconsistent about the hoods/hats which hide hair too. It looks to me like they just didn't bother with checking old gear and "unlocking" the hat options for us. Meh.

More broken promises from the devs, leaving 2 races in an unfinished state and not bothering to make new items usable. I can count on 1 hand the number of headgear I can use from endwalker despite them saying that they would make new gear usable going forward. What's the point when they just recycle gear and don't update it to work?

All they have to do is hide the ears. I'm sure that's precisely what they've done for Miqote.

I actually feel really angry about the new event hat. AGAIN? Really? I thought we were done with this. I can put up with not every single brand new hat not being adjusted for viera, but a reward for an event?? REALLY?

Even if they couldn't just shrink the hat and give us a cute little top hat (like they've done for other hats), at least just give us the clown nose?? Then the outfit would still clearly be a clown.

What surprised me is that the reaper hat (job item level 89) can be worn by viera's . So clearly, they can make items wearable by viera's. So they could done the same with event items.
