VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

I'm absolutely amazed that they let Viera wear the Raid Fending/Maiming helmets by hiding the ears. Not sure why they didn't do the same with the crafted gear though...

As far as I know we got the new hairstyles and nothing else besides what was already announced.

B/c it's a terrible habit for SE to be getting into. I know we're all happy to have Viera/Hroth friendly helmets, but if you're going to cut your ears off then why did you make a Viera and not a Hyur? Sorry, I'll be that one person that's always referred to as, "Even if they did they'll be the one person to complain."

Look, Viera's and Hrothgars have ears, similar to Miqote / Elezen / Lala's. I know it isn't convenient, but they're an extremely recognized race to the franchise at this point. I know the better option is to hide them until a better idea is given later, but we all know later will never happen.

SE, Please PLEASE pretty please do not get into a habit of cutting the ears off. Give armor ear holes if you don't want to mess with the armor like miqote / elezen, give the option to have ear holes, but please do not let this be the precedent.

Also, thank you for such a positive patch for Vieras / Hrothgars, I feel hope in seeing the finish line of all addition hair / helmets - hopefully by next expansion <3

I'm pretty sure they got stuff. Hairs for sure. a picture of one or two hairs in the patch notes. I haven't seen anything personally, or shared by hrothgars on here though.

Agreed. While it's nice if viera can use those helmets, this shouldn't be an acceptable practice. It's why I heavily dislike reaper, for example. I have been vehemently against racial features being removed - especially as an easy way of doing something - for races. Not just viera or hrothgar.

I'd much rather be able to wear the new gear than the current situation with 90% of new gear where they just disable the headgear model for my character. It's very easy for people who play ARR races to be picky though, they have access to almost all the hair and headgear already.

Well I play viera, and I don't like it. Removing racial features should never become the norm.

I don't think many (if any) people have unlocked the new ponytails from Island Sanctuary yet, but those should work on Hrothgar as well.

The images of Hrothgar in the patch notes were just to show that they altered the hair models they added last patch to show the ears.

I'm not going to persist in the land of copium where I ever expect Viera to get normal headgear compatibility. It'll be a 7.0 thing if at all and quite frankly I would rather they remove the racial features than the alternative which is never being able to wear those pieces at all. Will I wear them? No, I don't care for helmets or hats, but earless helmets are still better than nothing at all. People can at least enjoy the full raid gear and savage raid gear they worked for without having to Fantasia to a whole other race. Overall we got a lot of good in this patch namely the confirmation that Viera/Hroths can and will get brand new hairstyles as they release and as far as I'm concerned visible helmets are visible helmets.

Because there's more to the race than their ears.

I just hate that I'm not able to display a certain piece of equipment on my character because SE randomly decided so. Let the ears clip, hide them, whatever, I just want to be able to actually see a helmet/hat on my head.

I also don't see any logic in entirely hiding a headpiece when you can already do that yourself. If someone doesn't like that it hides their ears, or lets them clip, that's their issue.
