VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

Ok.. I read your complaints, and even though I would like to see more hats and hairstyles it's not that big of an issue, and I do love my Viera, as she is. But... I do have a complaint, it's 100% aimed at HROTHGAR. It's 100% aimed at the Bozjan Storyline. Which 150% put me off of that race and Gunbraker as a job. Before Bozjan, I loved Hrothgar, they were cool, proud, had an interesting story hook with gunbreaker, I wanted more, Bozjan dropped, and was horrified by the story, it was insulting, it was malicious, and frankly if the Empire exterminated every Hrothgar I wouldn't shed a tear. So yeah, I have complaints, but it's all based on the worst story in FFXIV.

Right now I'm loving constantly changing my hairstyle for viera, it's very freeing and fun. The only thing that would make me go back to hrothgar is if they can use all the unlockable hairstyles present in the game. That would make them more unique, it would be really fun to customize them that way. That's why I'm eagerly waiting for the next live letter, I wanna see how far they'll take hrothgar hair customization. If it's just changing hairstyles from the few existing hrothgar hairstyles I won't be interested, they're kinda ugly.

Torture Porn is one way to say it, as they literally hit every taboo in gaming on one Quest Chain. Then they had the gual to assume your character would support the people who did all the taboos over the victims. I hated everyone of those guys in Bojzan, I hated the girl for using mind control, I hated them all, if we nuked Bozja I wouldn't mind, as long as the Empire had a chance to leave first.

Tell me, what are the other things SE should prioritise? Why do you think it’s acceptable to bring in new races and hold off their compensation for 3+ years? Do you think it’s fair Viera and Hrothgar have been unfinished races for all that time?

Not really vague, more like being unrealistic.

Viera has been in demand for years, and Hrothgar came included which both were rushed out, and Male Viera came in by demands despite lore supporting completely against them. They can't do everything to solve the RP community, game needs content and more work requires time, and taking too long for releases hurts revenue.

It's not fair, but I can see why they are low priority. They make more than enough money as is via people switching back and forth off of them, or switching faces with hrothgar. It's probably in their best interest to NOT update them. The more limited the race is, the less work overall.

I really do think Hrothgar and Viera are a low priority because the community keeps requesting SE work on other things. Hrothgar paying £5 to change a haircut should have been nipped in the bud within the first year of release, that's something I consider that a high priority. But instead the public wanted SE to get rid of the gender locked races. The purpose of this thread was also to shed some light on the situation, how not fixing these issues is extortionate - imagine just how much money they've made off these two races' limitations, it's unacceptable ignoring the players who love these races. The developer's need to release their future plans for Viera at least considering we don't know the extent of Hrothgar's update in 6.1, but now we have both Viera genders who share the same limitations.

They are low priority, and since people keep paying for fantasias and playing the game, they will continue to be. I agree with you, it is absolutely flabbergasting that the Hrotghar fantasia issue wasn't adressed immediately. Saying they will have limitations is one thing but they could've at least WARNED people about that specific one and while people will say it was adressed at LL and such I honestly do not recollect them ever saying Hrothgars would need a damn FANTASIA to change hairstyles because I imagine there would've been rage over it. I remember the first day I happily switched to viera and went in to check hairstyles and sat there.... "ok where did they all go?" and then after a while "ok but surely they will be added, I have worked hard for some of them and paid for some of them, they can't just NOT add them". And then reading interviews where SE says they will add them or that they will recieve more unique hairstyles. Two years.....TWO years and we got six hairstyles and Hrothgar got nothing. But we got umbrellas. That nobody asked for.
And I agree so much with you. They couldve just waited for Hrothgar and released a finished viera or vice versa. If they just communicated better overall then there would not be as many issues and angry players.

Out of all the possible hairstyles released for Viera why was the 9S haircut and messy ponytail chosen? Unless they’re popular on other servers, I’ve rarely seen them utilized if at all.

the ponytail sits so badly but Ive seen one or two vieras wear it. Ive mostly seen the racespecific ones, very few with the legacy one, some karen (I wear the karen one). I would LOVE to hear why they were chosen. I understand that alot of players really wanted the 2B one and they probably felt if they gave the female version they needed to give the male one. But.....The rest were probably just what was easiest to implement. How the ponytail and 2B one were released as is is beyond me but here we are.
Someone said in another thread that it seems they hate viera and hrothgar and I remember reading yoship didnt want to add viera, but he did want hrotghar. So to release them like this and then not touching them in 2 years is.....oof.
