VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

I'm a very experienced 3D Artist. It took me 25 minutes to figure out how to rip from the game, and throw this ugly thing together:

While it does look significantly better with ears, it goes to show their hair choices were abysmal, and nonsensical.

Dev team needs to pick hairstyles that work around the head shape and ears of the Hrothgar. Shouldn't be too hard to do since there are a few hairstyles that are perfect for that.

The people here posting their own Hrothgar hairstyles look amazing and should he considered added into the game. I would wear most of them with my Hrothgar!

Hello everyone. I have renewed my subscription and come to see everyone's opinion on the new Hrothgar hairstyles and voice my own, needless to say I'm devistated. No surprise, this has caused an uproar amongst the community.

Just like everyone, I thought this was an April fool's joke. After the photos were shown, I waited for a "JUST KIDDING - here are the real photos" and when that never came, I was shocked.

To the certain group of people who preached "We dont need more race-exclusive hairstyles, I just want what everyone else has" Well... Here you go - this is what Square Enix can provide. Viera were lucky, we kept our ears. Hrothgar not so much. They waited 3+ years for this?

I thought above all Hrothgar would be the ones to get more race-exclusive hairstyles. I knew the majority of modern-aesthetics wouldn't suit Hrothgar at all, but I did not expect their ears to get removed in the process. The hairstyles they selected were very dissapointing, it really doesn't fit the "Hrothgar" aesthetic.

People can continue to scream unfairness at the thought of Viera/Hrothgar getting unqiue hairstyles, but unless SE remove headgear from the game entirely, or spend years fixing all hats/hairstyles PROPERLY to our heads (Which would take years), then I don't see a more fair compromise than giving us something to make up for the restrictions. "Fairness" is a two way-street, not when it's a convenience to you.

Remember guys; popular demand is what keeps winning. We were promised more race-exclusive hairstyles, this is what we need. If everyone's content with Karen hairstyles that only a few will actually wear, good on you - but I want Yoshi-P to keep his word. The limited races deserve better. (Unless Yoshi-P says the 2019 statement was a mistranslation, I'll continue to think otherwise)

I was one that wanted the hairstyles the other races have, but with ears of course. Once female hrothgars are released they will be able to use them as well, so the haren hairstyle and other feminine ones had to come because they would want to use them. I just expected the more masculine ones to come first. Hopefully by the time the next expansion will be released, viera and hrothgar will have access to all hairstyles in the game. And hopefully hrothgars get ears as well...

To be honest I don't really agree with this narrative spin that it's somehow the players own fault these are bad because "we asked for this". Players ask for many things every day and we've seen them reject or sometimes just not respond to plenty of them so it's not like they're completely at the mercy of the wants of the playerbase if they have something different in mind, people asked for these mythical race-exclusive hairstyles for a long time as well.

If they really had concrete plans for either of the races in terms of hairstyles they would've gone through with them or even talked about it again beyond that original possibly mistranslated/misunderstood statement. To me personally, the fact that it took until 6.0 for Viera to get something and 6.1 for Hrothgar makes me think they didn't have any solid plans for their hairstyles at all, shared or new.

This isn't on the players who maybe did or didn't ask for something.

Yoshi and his team are praised for their work and their openness to the community. Why has it seem like as of late, they're purposefully destroying that legacy that Yoshi spent agonizing years building up?

To the people with the "well you asked for this" mindset; please go outside and touch grass or something...

They act like Hrothgar players have been screaming and throwing a tantrum for the last 2.5 years when all we've asked is for them to decouple the hairstyles we already have from the faces, so we could have some form of variety. I would rather have 1 unique hairstyle for Hrothgar for every 10 hairstyles added for other races because i prefer quality over quantity.

Why else do you think the idea of race specific hair was scrapped? It's obviously to do with the outcry of people asking for the current hairstyles in the game instead.
