I could support the argument either way if you include Female Hroth. I was totally fine with having two genderlocked races (although imo Hroth should still have just been called Ronso for as much as they changed conceptually).

I guess I don't care that much that they exist now, but given boybuns' posture, the long delay for lionmoms, and the continued lack of hat reform, I definitely think there there is a case of "was this all worth it?" where both races are not played much. As far as my personal preferences go, I absolutely would trade both for working hats.

Bold of you to assume they would have given us hats without bunboys and lionmoms, they had plenty of time to do so. At least I am fairly sure they didn't start working on these two character options right after Shadowbringers release and were busy with them full time. Every new armor they developed for the game was a chance to do better as well and they didn't do that either. Instead we got an impressive number of gearsets with circlets this expansion.
No need to call more options for people to play a mistake or failure or worthless because you would have preferred dev time to go elsewhere. Chances are slim this dev time would have been used for hats, going by history.

Personally I stick with both.gif and I won't stop demanding headgear until my Viera can wear this Yafaemi Hat of Healing (and many others). We deserve to be as fabulous like the other Warriors of Light!

I'm 100% convinced neither were supposed to get their other gender, heck, they weren't even supposed to get hairstyles if not for the overwhelmingly negative feedback and pr disaster it caused. SE, for whatever reason we may never find out about, tried to severely cut corners with these 2 races, and it backfired gloriously.

Point is, if being a Karen is the only way to be heard, then so be it. At the very least store and AF hats should always work.

It's not even about finding 1 solution; they could solve the hat issue by making it an in-game client-side option where we can toggle to let ears clip, hide, or show no hats for viera/hrothgar. Unfortunately it seems square enix prefers "everyone gets the decision we made for you" when it comes to their mmos. You know, a live service game with different communities, cultures, and preferences.

Nah, the game already knows which hair-piece you're wearing or glammed. It's only a matter of square enix enabling the hat toggle for those races locally on your pc. It's really as simple as a visual toggle, this is how that dude that ported over ALL hats/helmets did it; or at least that's how he first started off; he's now creating ear holes and doing other tricks. But initially as far as just letting ears clip right through hats, that's just a toggle. The hats already exist as part of the equipment slot, it's just hidden by the devs.

I also would like more Viera racial hairs, because many of the ported hairs don't look great compared to their racial only hairs.
I'd like to see Mjrn's hair and Fran's hair (large ponytail with headgear) Not a half one or half of the other

It would be nice as well if the hair design team would alter some hairstyles that are clearly not meant for Viera or Miqo'te, to fit more properly to them. Like Alma's hair (Lexen Tails) which has two huge gaps where normal, human/elven or Au Ra horns would go- it looks really bad on Viera and Miqo'te- it would be nice if the space meant for human ears was covered for miqo & viera. A suggestion would be adding additional hair to cover it or smoothing it down.

I know it won't happen but those are some hopes I have for Viera hairstyle improvements
