I exclusively run savage in PF and I can 100% confirm that there are people who try to make a competition out of everything, even though savage is a PVE team based game mode... I don't know why people think fighting their own team will result in anything else but failure.

I just imagine these kind of people being either very young (either by age or by mindset), or having major self esteem issues in their real life, and they try to compensate ingame. But, some people just generally have superiority complex.

They do not understand that since this is a team based game, you NEED to have some sort of team cohesion and your team needs to be willing to work with you. If you think you are the big wewe and you don't need other people's help, why not just play a single player FPS game?

Also, logs and rubbing in numbers to someones face is "illegal", they can be reported.

All in all, the community is toxic like any other community but find a group you like and stay with them. They are usually the ones that make MMOs worth it

Any sort of toxicity however minor ,even caps lock in PF chat or party chat after joining I just backlist that person problem solved, once you blacklist his group will never show up in PF for you to join. I play this GAME for fun don’t have time to interact with assholes I do that in my real job already.

Last night the tank was a complete asshole, I just said I don’t play with toxic people left , blacklisted right away and on next group we beat p2s on second try after getting 0.1% enrage on first try and we didn’t even need to use a second LB, keep black listing till everything is nice.

You need a relax group to beat savages, toxicity at the party chat or PF caps description is a sure sign the group won’t clear.

No offense to Aether, ya'll got some problems if that type of behavior is normal. Primal (at least since I've been here for the past 5 months) is like the complete opposite. People being patient, willing to teach, no threats or insults being thrown around in voice or party chat. Even when I was in Aether for over a year, I never encountered situations to the extent being described.

Pf is always trash. I hadn’t played in a Month or so, and I joined Ramuh raid that I had already cleared. I did this with my ultimate clear friend, and caused a wipe on accident. But the one malding wasn’t my friend, it was this dude in crap unmelded crafted gear.
So like , either call them out on their bullshit and leave , or find a supportive friend group to play with

Is this normal?
This is my first savage tier release, never been to one on patch day.
For the past 5 days all my CWLS, discords, FC chat and other private communities I'm part of have been filled with the following
1. "Damn PF is bad" but much more explicit language
2. "lol the RDM has spent the most time dead"
3. randomly someone say "THIS [insert job acronym] WTF" during all times of the day
4. links to fflogs profiles of various people they meet in party finder and logs they parsed.

Is this normal for the FFXIV community? I have never seen such sociopathic behavior from any other online community, the amount of vitriol spouted in private channels is beyond reasonable.

it culminated with me joining a voice chat channel on discord and hearing them talking in the most toxic manner to our 8th party member who joined via party finder, blaming him for everything, scrutinizing every single move, linking to his fflogs profile, shaming him for job choice, race choice, gender choice etc...

Depends who you play with. More people raiding atm it'll die down when those players go on break and raiding is mostly casuals and private parses.

I don’t think its toxic to be frustrated someone is dying over and over. They aren’t contributing anything at that point.
