Final Fantasy 14 Players trying WOW?

So not played WOW yet.....

There has been migration from WOW to FFXIV but wondered if anyone had tried the other way (though i wont migrate)

I have been for a while a casual a FFXIV player and have been active since 1.0 and not looking to stop playing as have a ton of memorabilia, happy times in game and been to a 14 fan fest and even Eorzean Symphony so a 10+ year investment. I am happy with the game but I do feel I want to try other things and thought I would try WOW. I tried GW2 and ESO and wasn't overly keen and did play EQ2 in the past.

Cannot change the title but any other mmorpgs people can recommend i like dot classes/necromancer style? I dont think I want to pay to support anything

I have read threads of WOW abut the community and company. I just wondered if there are any people who have actually tried the game in 2021/2022 and if its any good?. The warlock dot class looks like something I would try and I suppose there is WOW classic. Are there any EU based servers that are well known for 30/40 year old players. I am PVE player than PVP so any thoughts anytips always welcome?

I'm one of those who played WoW long before playing FF14.

Modern WoW is a lot of fun. The WoW forums/reddit/etc. are cesspits, but the game itself is really enjoyable. Mythic+ dungeons, raids, etc. are great, and modern WoW is design for people to play without having to no-life the game.

Yes, absolutely, thanks, this is my plan I was looking for a good server and possibly a free company (guild i guess in wow).

i played WoW a long time ago, raiding and pvp is not my thing. and after the blizz scandal iam not giving them another penny so you wont ever find me playing WoW or any other blizzard/activision game

There is a reason we are all coming to FFXIV. WoW is not a good game anymore.

I haven't played the game anytime recently, but I did try it twice. Both years from each other. I didn't make it to level 10 either time. Game was FAR too generic. Meaning it was exactly like every other mmo I had ever played upto that point, which was a ton.

Normally I'd say the players aren't at fault for the developers not behaving and people should enjoy the games they like ...but WoW has crossed a line where I genuinely don't understand how anyone can go near it anymore.

They've been abandoning that sinking ship for awhile. It's not really the player base's fault that the guilty developers are horrible people. There has been a huge disconnect between the player base and the development team for years now and it finally boiled over, resulting in the mass exodus we've been seeing. The controversy surrounding the company wasn't the cause but I think it was the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of people. It was just one more reason to leave. Personally, I've invested over a third of my life into that game, so it will be nearly impossible for me to outright quit. There's a lot of time and money invested, not to mention that I have many good memories of the game when it was still fun to play. I return every now and then, but it is happening less and less frequently as time goes on.
