I solo'd rath ex on my 90 warrior the other night. Saved inner release for the bull and knockdown phases in the second half. I STILL hit enrage my first go but was able to do it my second attempt. I wouldn't recommend it to farm tho. Bringing even one more person would probably make it a joke
Find a friend.
Just tried again, I can kill the bull in 3-4 globals.
My issue is the final phase. I can only get the down meter to 80 percent or so the 2nd time before running out of time and getting the hard enrage instant kill.
Solo'd it, first try, unsync'd as WAR.
I can agree that the bar is now longer to fill, but it is by no means impossible to solo. You just need to maintain uptime as much as you can.
Don't see what would have changed mechanically. You're getting the 60% Epic Echo that the other Stormblood duties give now, aren't you? That should make damage a no brainer, even with the stat squish. I mean, WARs solo Shinryu Ex and other Stormblood extremes now... Rathalos should be a joke.
I don't think they would have changed how long the down meter takes. It's always filled at a rate of 1.5 Down Gauge per GCD. Only GCDs fill it. That means 67 GCDs to bring it to the ground.
As for Mollusk's question: Yes, Rathalos's RNG hates you. He can perform his second set mechanics in any order. This sometimes means he will do back to back to back group stacks, which come out in sets of 3. The most back to back group stacks I've had is 2, though, which is 6 group stack markers in a row.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
