PLEASE only if they're optional
I hate them and they don't even work right in this game
Half the stops involve jumping on thin air and hoping for the best

If you hate them - then just don't do them. Please no, I absolutely hate jumping puzzles.
A lot of aether currents in SB involved jumping puzzles and it was torture. After that they started making currents easier and easier to get, so they did move away from that.
there's a jumping tower in Shirogane too btw, the lighthouse or something.
There were no aether currents in SB which required jumping puzzles, this is simply untrue - for one because these puzzles are always in zones which don't allow flight to begin with, as it would defeat the entire point of the puzzle.
You are mistaking aether currents with vistas, which are 100% optional. They don't even lock you out of the painting rewards, as those are tradeable on MB.

The worst part of the jump puzzles is having to abuse the invisible platforms to position for the start of your jump while simultaneously having to avoid hitting your head or shoulder on an invisible box in the middle of your jump. Our jump puzzles are not designed well.

If you enjoy jumping puzzles, go do them in GW2. They are a ton of fun and I love them as well.
But I love them in GW2 because the game was designed for them. Controlling your character while jumping is designed like a platformer. In FFXIV, you have no control over your character once they are airborne and the jumps are up in the air as to whether they will work the way you want them to or not. Can you land on that thing over there? Who knows! Is that awning going to get in my way like the last one did? Nope, not this one for no explainable reason!
I'd much rather the developers work on fixing things like jumping physics, terrain, invisible walls, etc first before they start wasting more time on jumping puzzles. Just like I'd have an issue if FFXIV suddenly had a FPS shooter section. It would play terribly due to the engine and the way this game works. But I still love FPS shooters.
As long as it's optional. I've had enough gw2 manditory jumping puzzles for six life times.

uh, hard to fly when you don't have the currents, don't you think? Also if you're telling me all the jumps required to get to some, like the infamous one in The Lochs, weren't jumping puzzles, idk what you're on. Not all jumping puzzles are of the magniture of Kugane Tower one, you know? Something that needs a series of calculated and precise jumps to reach IS a jumping puzzles.
And sure, if you hate them don't do them, easy to say. In that case, they would have to make them not tied to absolutely any current or vista. And then people would complain they went crazy to do some awful jump puzzle and got nothing out of it (except for those very few who actually enjoy them).

Do you get an achievement for jumping puzzles? I hope you do. I can't stand them, but for those of you who like them- I hope they give you that. Seems like there could be some entertaining titles related to those.
No achievements outside of Leap of Faith, but that's ok. They're fun on their own.
