So, while I agree, I also caution to keep in mind what this would mean and what would be needed to make actual enjoyable content. As is, the jumping engine (and to an extent their racing engine) are just not well designed.

It's like trying to host a Lan Party at your house using janky wi-fi. It's not that the game itself is bad, it's that the hardware to support play needs work to make it enjoyable/playable.
In my opinion part of the fun is to figure out how to do the jumping puzzle with the possibilties that are available to you.
The Engine is part of this and while you can complain that there are other games with more suitable Engines, it will not change the fact that more jumping puzzles in FF14 would provide a lot of fun.

I also agree that jumping puzzles should be purely optional.

hat's exactly why I hate jumping puzzles in XIV. GW2 was build for it, here it isn't. Kugane Tower was horrible and I hope it does in a fire.
OT: If you find KT horrible than you have probably never tried some of the more challenging GW2 jumping puzzles XD

Either way jumping is more realistic here. We cannot move in the air while in GW2 you can.
I do agree it's more fun in GW2. Breaking boundaries?

Jumping puzzles are fun. I had a lot of fun doing all of SWTOR's many, Rift had a few that were fun, and the simple puzzle in XIV's Falcon's nest was also fun - the Aether up on the bridge less so. heh.

I think I have a neko in my genes, in all MMOs I am the sort who wants to get to the high, impossible to reach places.

I hope we see many more, for people who like them!

The way jumps work in GW2 makes the jumping puzzles more fun. With how ffxiv works i haven't even bothered with kugane tower.

And I've done the diving challenge for hidden base in GW2 where you got to finish a jumping puzzle, then jump blindly through a fake wall into a tiny pond.

    PLEASE only if they're optional
I hate them and they don't even work right in this game
Half the stops involve jumping on thin air and hoping for the best

The worst part of the jump puzzles is having to abuse the invisible platforms to position for the start of your jump while simultaneously having to avoid hitting your head or shoulder on an invisible box in the middle of your jump. Our jump puzzles are not designed well.

I actually have a solution for this! For some reason, I'm never where I seem to be on screen! So I can never do these right, but I DID still need the sightseeing logs, so what I did was!! Marry someone who's great at them, and then when they get to the top, I used the Eternity Ring to teleport right there too and get the log. Remember everyone, marry wisely. Both in real life and in game!
