Inventory Bloating

Okay,

I spent the better part of an evening weaving through my retainer inventory, personal inventory and Gamor Armoire, setting new glamors, trashing old ones and trying to get my inventory to a half managable place.


I felt very good about myself for a while, until I realized my Saddle bad was FULL of armor, and I had a bunch still sitting on the Calamity Salvager.

I know I can pay for an extra retainer, but my worry is every time I unsub for a month or two, I'll have to go pick my stuff up from the Calamity Salvager and re organize it back to a third retainer for skipping a month fee.

It's been what, three xpacs since they expanded our inventory, with about two new jobs per xpac...thats a LOT of extra armor, and if you're anything like me...you're a hoarder who cries at the very thought of throwing anything away.

At least It'd be nice to be able to store all AF gear in the Armorie with our holiday gear and OG Artifact armor. Hell, being able to store all AF gear there alone would be a huge fix.

I love how many options there are for glamor, armor and personalizing ourselves. But I think it's time they let us unlock an additional inventory slot, or something?

If I'm remembering correctly, my retainers kept all the items they had on them when I unsubbed for a break.

I've got a bunch of retainers and am still ruthless with inventory management. If it's not something I'm going to use this expansion, it's gone. I do keep one retainer dedicated for housing and another for glamour/extra gear for alt job leveling so they get full sometimes. All the others regularly have the majority of their inventory liquidated to keep space for thing I do need or will use.

Hmm, I am sure the few times I have let my extra retainers expire, I just restart them and their stuff was still in there.

Yeah SE has never been big on deleting characters/items/accounts.

As for inventory, I think they are trying to reduce bloat, since there's no more "trash" drops, just auto-gear drops at the end of dungeons. The trash drops used to annoy me so much.

I believe Yoshida said that they're aiming to expand the glamour dresser in 6.1, but obviously that won't solve the problem.

This is why they change old items into poetic obtainable pieces. Poetics are essentially trash for the most part but you can use them to buy old things you might consider useful for other classes you're leveling etc... Being able to run old trials unsync is a great thing as well because you are essentially guaranteed said items if you ask or do it yourself. The tricky part is the hard to obtain items, when you toss them you'll get "replica of eureka" or whatever. It's not original which is sad. But, there comes a time when you just can't keep all that stuff. :'( I hope one day they convert the glam dresser into a service so it might load slow like the shared fates window but at least you can have as many glams as you like.
