    Honest Summoner Questions

Is SMN really as easy as I am thinking?

So I'm trying to finish all the Endwalker Role Quests and its come down to the two I'm least excited about, Ranged Magical DPS and Healing.

I choose to do SMN and SCH so I don't have to level two different jobs AND since I hardly ever play either in party content, I can suffer with Trust and solo play.

So, I was getting used to 6.0 smn, and it really feels easy-peaszy

Just Smn Carby- Sumon Bahamut, weave between his abilities until he vanishes...throw up each summon after that until I can get Dread Wyrm Trance once more, then summon Bahamut back....

Weave a few Energy Siphon for Painflare and Fester...and throw up Searching Light and Radiant Aegis when needed?

    Is that really it?

(Raised the Healer a few times so there's that)

    Am I missing something?

I'd had it leveled to 70 and figured it would take longer to learn since its basically a whole new job since I last played...but this feels really simple?

Can anyone offer some legit suggestions for party play? I've no intent to raid with SMN, just be not terrible in party play.

No that's basically it. The lvl86 trait adds a tiny bit more but smn is extremely basic in design

Summoner is very simple, for a lot of people that is part of the appeal, or at least it is for me. Searing light should be used any time its up though since there really isn't much reason to hang on to it, unless you're maybe saving it for the boss. The level 86 trait does add an astral flow ability to each of your summons, and fills out the rotation a little more, but no it isn't going to turn into a 2 minute rotation that requires 36 hotkeys. Maybe I am doing it wrong but I will go ahead and say that after level 86 I only cast ruin III maybe once before the next Bahamut or Phoenix phase is up so there is not a lot of filler time after you run through your summons.

Yup, APM dropped from 41 to like 30. goes back up a bit to 34 at 86 due to titan's weave

Yeah that’s all there is to it. That’s why people are so up in arms. Gameplay is literally identical from 22 to 86 give or take two buttons.

You get Phoenix later in addition to bahamut, but phoenix is basically just bahamut with a healing effect soo... yeah it doesn't really get any better.

Oh wait actually it gets worse at 90 because your primal summons start blinding you to the point you can't see mechanics.
