    well i doubt they will cancel it if it fails... FFXIV nowdays is still "successfull" enough to make money with it.
    you dont have million of subscribers but they have enough to make profit.

    there are mmorpgs out of there which have much more less people playing but they still exist after over ten years.

    I don't know about that profit part. I mean, I'm sure SE has to have some realistic level of expectation for this project. Even if it doesn't pull in a massive amount of players they've already invested a ridiculous amount of money for servers, engine, resources, complete restructuring, planning, new servers, new engine, etc. I guess it just depends on if they're willing to cut their original losses or not.

    Absolute worst case scenario I can see is that the game will end up going F2P with a cash shop, but I really doubt it'd come to that. They certainly won't cancel the game though. Not after all the time and money they've put into it.
