Fatal DX11 Error 11000002 mid-game, and progressively worse now.

Hello, I've recently picked up FFXIV and have been enjoying my experience of the game thus far. I have had zero issues so far while playing through the main ARR story, I had only gotten a small bit of the way through heavensward's story when I encountered my first (and unfortunately not the last) Dx11 error. It happened during a cutscene and repeatedly crashed within seconds of logging in, even once at the character selection screen.

I tried a few of the easy fixes. restarting computer, and the restore game data options. Neither of which worked. I decided to turn off some of the overlays, as some people had mentioned them to be an issue. I turned off discord and Nvidia G-Sync. And magically the crashes 100% stopped and I was able to play smoothly for two days. (keep in mind that I played with those on with no issue until partway into the first expansion.)

Yesterday, I had the error suddenly happen again while waiting in a 2k person queue, put a stone in my gut seeing that error come up again. But I was able to play a small bit today until during my second ever raid I had the DX11 11000002 error while going between zones in the raid. I was able to immediately get back in and finish the raid, thankfully. And then during the many cutscenes that followed I had it happen more and more. It seemed to particularly happen when fiddling with tabs or opening new ones in my web browser. (again, not something that has been an issues at all until now.)

It has now gotten to the point where my game will have the Dx11000002 error while booting if my browser is even running. It sometimes manages to load if nothing is running, but the second I click off the game on my second monitor (even with nothing on it) and back onto FFXIV it will crash when I click back onto the game. (This has also never been an issue until the error starting terrorizing me.)

I tried a few other fixes (none of the same ones I did before.) I capped my GPU at 60 frames, I turned off windows game mode and the xbox overlay that both come automatically turned on with the OS. I turned off hardware acceleration on my browser, which actually seemed to instantly make the problem way worse. I undid all of these changes as they did not do anything to remedy the situation.

I already play the game on borderless windowed mode, so that fix is not possible. So I'm kind of at a loss, I don't know if the game will run compliantly if I just have only the game open, as that is a complete deal breaker and was not an issue for the dozens of hours before now.

I'm sincerely hoping to get some help fixing this, as I have been greatly enjoying the gameplay and story and don't really want to have to cease my subscription.

Edit: Oh! and yes I have already updated my drivers and windows.

Could you try using a registry cleaner such as CC cleaner? It will run and remove files that may have been left behind by installation another activity on the PC. To so, please remove the game and then restart the PC. Run the registry cleaner and then restart the computer. Once the computer has been reset please reinstall the game again. Well, I won't be trying that again. Game actually Direct X Error'd before the rating screen could fully load on launch. Fastest crash yet.

Well, seeing as how the game now gives me the fatal DX11 error on launch, my ability to try half the fixes is out the window. I sincerely hope you guys patch this, or I'm going to have to stop my subscription.

Thank you for your recommendation. Unfortunately, both swapping all my USB connections and the sound alteration fix you shared did not stop my game from crashing upon launch. Sometimes I can get to the main menu for a few seconds. This is quite frustrating.

Could you try using a registry cleaner such as CC cleaner? It will run and remove files that may have been left behind by installation another activity on the PC. To so, please remove the game and then restart the PC. Run the registry cleaner and then restart the computer. Once the computer has been reset please reinstall the game again. After reinstalling the game, please restart the PC once more. Once the PC has been reset, please launch the game.

I'm actually going to go ahead and say under NO circumstances should you use CCleaner. My computer was running fine besides FFXIV borking. Now I'm getting massive spikes in CPU and GPU use after it "removed all the bad stuff. I had to run a CMD scan to fix the corrupted files. Seems to have been fixed, but if not I'll have to do a system restore or fresh installation.

I'm having this same issue.
Will provide additional information on my experience.

Screen goes black (both of my screens)
I hear a USB disconnect sound from Windows
The screen comes back with a Direct X error 1000012 (or w/e it is that ends in 2)
Game shuts off.

If I don't restart my computer before logging in again, I'm at about 5 FPS. It goes so slow that even when restarting the game from scratch, the username/password takes a few seconds to catch up my inputs.
