Extreme connection issues after going into duty

As of yesterday evening whenever I go into a combat duty my game connection continues to deteriorate until I'm kicked. That same morning I was playing without any problems at all (I have changed no online settings). My diagnostics are telling me that everything is fine connection-wise on my end. I've tried playing a bit of other online games since then and this is the only one where any sort of connection issue is happening. I can fish and do other slow-paced things but once I start fighting mobs things just go to hell. Tried using a VPN to no avail.

- Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
- Any error codes or messages you receive upon disconnect (if any)
- Type of connection (wired or wireless)
- Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
- Frequency at which error occurs
- Everything you have tried to resolve the issue
