Let me tell you about minion drop rates...

haven't logged in in years but literally had to log in to say yikes another fellow multi-hundred 4.0 box buyer with no mount, /laliho absolutely miserable lol, spoke with someone in a hunt yesterday that had 72 control X materia break in 1 shot with that "10% chance", uhhhhh last time i checked that's not 10%, my record is 37 broken in one single meld attempt, also not 10%, i've had 3-4 materia NOT break when pulling off over 50 TWICE now.... that is NOT 40%, my shadowless maiming chest from Hero's Gauntlet was 73 runs with the trust,
my infuriating but beloved awful-to-acquire clionid larva was freaking 84 runs solo unsynced and then ran it another 20 to help a friend get his, still have NEVER EVER seen The Ancient One drop after hmmm i will say about 60ish i stopped counting after 50 runs.
for one of my worst ones, my nightmare mount... oh boy... i got myself, and 9 other people ALL of their horses and kirin mounts and then another like 6 months of doing my WT's weekly before i finally got it from a shiva and nearly fell out of my chair that was HUNDREDS of runs, literally HUNDREDS because multiple of those people took 30+ garudas to get their xanthos -.-
i swear when i created my character yoshi.p personally stopped the creation process and put a like -50% to all RNG rolls on it at this point lmaooo the actual king of awful RNG

In my experience, you need to stop trying to get the minion, then it will drop on your next run of the dungeon via roulette or something.

Don't forget to die at least a couple of times too. Legend says each deaths raises your odds to win big money loots.

When Endwalker first dropped, I was running the Dead Ends maybe 5-10 times a day depending on how fast queues were going, and nothing. It has been SO LONG and I am *still* running this thing at MINIMUM once a day, most of the time 2 or 3, and I have yet to even see it drop once. I don't even want the bird cause it's cute anymore, I want it so I can stop huffing copium. That's too many runs to count. At LEAST let someone sell it on the mb so I can stop living this nightmare ;-;

Just buy the axolotl minion instead, or wait until we get the bird in a moogle tome event.

I ran lv87 dungeon for 12 hours non-stop almost to get the minion. I have been running lv89 dungeon for 5 days. 5!!! and didn't see a single minion. I can only imagine lv90 dungeon minion. These are untradeable and unsellable so i am running with trust cause i don't want to roll on these on top of rng. Why make these drops this rare? They are untradeable and any collector with a logical mind will farm these with trusts since they are UNTRADEABLE! why are these so rare? Just why? Did dev team really think we would run these dungeons with DF and expect to get a high roll? I levelled all my trust to 90, ran these dungeons 30ish times each, not a single drop.

Yes this is a rant post.

Whether it's minions or orchestrions rolls, it's all the same, Murphy's Law of maximum annoyance.

You don't want it, it just happens.

In the end, I've got into the habit of buying them from the MB, then if I loot them, I sell them.
