DNC needs more than that re-assigning of skill types.

"Fix my job NFT bad!!!!"
>Doesn't mention a single thing needed to be fixed
Title says it all. Needs potency buffs.

It's definitely frustrating to see dragoon, ninja, and summoner all receive potency buffs that at least made them competitive within their respective roles (although none of the three are the strongest choice, they at least aren't lagging behind), and then dancer is left to just sit 10-15% behind bard with machinist somewhere in the middle. The state of phys ranged this tier leaves a lot to be desired. I can only assume that, just like the expansion itself, they ran out of time and shipped what they had, glaring issues included. I still don't see why they couldn't just slap 100 potency / minute into base weaponskills or standard finish (please god, this skill is so bad right now) as a band aid until 6.1. Even if they reverted standard back to 1000 potency, dancer would still be the weakest job in the game by a long shot.
Here's to hoping that they will own this mistake and fix it.
I do believe we have already seen the result of 6.0 and 6.05 patch, which they thought was WELL BALANCED.

I'm a dancer only player. I'm not disagreeing that dancer isn't too weak. Nin, Drg, and Sum all got potency improvements to narrow the gap and make them more competitive within their roles, so it makes zero sense as to why dancer and machinist got left out to dry while bard basks in the sunlight. This is just negligence on the balance/design team's part, and they should rightfully be held accountable for doing a bad job.
That all being said,
every job had cleared p4s by the end of the second day.
I saw a party that was sam/mch/dnc/rdm/whm/pld clear at the end of the second day. That team comp is about as "bad" as it could possibly be for this tier, and they still cleared on week 1 without overgearing.
For the record this didn't actually happen for NIN.
I mean it did if we're being literal, but the reason for the potency buff was because they turned 6 Raiju's into 3.
The actual effect of it was barely noticeable to the point we may as well just consider it as nothing happened at all in terms of potencies.
The dmg in practice is the same.
I agree about DNC needing buffs tho, I actually want to level DNC since they share accessories with NIN to use as alts ( also physical dps seems to be in massive demand, always missing it seems ).
And not gonna lie but our damage was noticeable worse in Second Circle - Savage when we had a DNC in the party.
When we had a DNC especially in a pf context I always felt like it was going to be a waste of time they need help.
Partly also because I play NIN so we'd basically have two of the poorly performing dps but even worse if we got more of them.
Not to say DNC can't clear or that all RPR are just inherently good I ran into plenty of terrible RPR but mostly it was because they died or because they had no melds ( which yes it happened and he acted like I was being ridiculous for wanting him to have melded gear, the DNC didn't either tho so it was two unmelded with the crafted sets ).
But they need some help.
I hope it happens, DNC's dancing feels a bit like Mudras to me so I want to play DNC as my alt for that overlap and they're just fun too.

I mean now there's 10% of dancer and 8% of mch in the top 50. Yesterday it was 4% of each, people just got their gear and trying out things now. Ranged really need a bone
