    Parties for DoL, DoH

    This idea probably isn't all that original or fully developed, but it just came to me while I was crafting. What if you could cooperate in a party with other crafters and gatherers? If you're anything like me you kind of just plop down in a corner and start cranking out synths solo, start getting drowsy then fall asleep at the computer.

    There's a whole slew of things that could be implemented with partying.
    - Small boosts to craftsmanship or stats depending on which classes are in the party
    - Enhanced synthesis support
    - crafting chains (*shrug* I honestly have no idea lol)

    If I recall correctly, waaaay back in the day there was talk about crafters working together on big projects like boats, giant cakes etc. It'd be pretty neat to see. Imagine a team of chefs perfecting their soup de jour or a band of lumberjacks plowing through the forest on their merry way. Yep, that's all I got.

    I was promised I would be able to bake cakes with friends. But then Yoshi-P took over. I'd like to see something similar implemented.

    There's nothing in crafting/gathering atm which suggest that teamwork needs to be done, it's pretty much every man for themselves. You can have a DoL/H only party for the hamlets but that's as far as 1.0 has gotten with party based events for those 2 disciplines. The examples you used wouldn't really do much for the casual player those ideas would help RMT more then anything since not everyone is in the mood to craft at the same time or for the same amount of time, while an RMT can easily obtain 8 members to gain whatever benefits they would from being in a party.

    The idea hasn't been scrapped just pushed back to reform everything, I mean honestly how good do you think those ideas would have been if they were implemented in a similar manner to how crafting use to work lol. I to do look forward to when team based synths arrive but it will most likely not be til the 2.0 interface. I also hope that with the 2.0 interface they are able to save your synthesis in the instance that you d/c mid-synth.

    Isn't that true of anything in the game, though? RMT already benefit from light/full party bonuses.

    And this is exactly why a lot of stupid decisions were made when the game first came out. Having severe limitations or completely negating a concept because RMT may use it at their advantage is quite silly.
    RMT will always take advantage of any game mechanic, any exploit, any boost/bonus/etc. to get where they want and they'll also cheat while doing it. There's no way to change that.
    Tanaka learned the hard way that making your game unplayable in order to fight RMT is a really bad idea.

    Actually I was thinking this too. If we got a small bonus to gathering, and crafters a small bonus to crafting...it could make those super hard synth's a little more doable. It would encourage team play, and it would be fun.

    Gathering classes perhaps a small party of miners working on one node would yeild a better chance of HQ ore? Or better exp? Better chance for the rare ore you seek?

    Perhaps it would take a TEAM of Miners to gather Coke ore? Rather than making us BUY it for 100k, make us work together to gather it ourselves?
