I think it would be cool if New Game+ let you choose a different "starter" area

I've posted in the past, I struggle with OCD. The short version is, since there's no "canon" starting city for the Warrior of Light, I sometimes wonder if I should start a different character, one that starts in Limsa instead of Ul'dah.

Of course, the decision doesn't REALLY matter all that much, but it's a role-playing decision, and one that's permanently flagged on your character-sheet.

Considering Fantasia already allows us to dramatically alter the identity of our character, I feel like being able to experience the other starter-areas would also be pretty sweet. For example, originally I felt like this character might have gone to Ul'dah to compete in the Colosseum, but now, I feel like Limsa Lominsa would've maybe made more sense as his initial adventure, being a Xaela and not really having much way to Eorzea except by ship.

I dunno. Just a thought!

Starter city is based off your job pick. Gardinia -lancer/archer/conjerer Limsa -archanist /marauder/rogue and so on

I havent tried the new game plus so not sure exactly how it works but dont you get to puck the job you do it with? If then just pick a job from a different area. If your assigned a spacific role then yeah that dont sound much fun

You can pick the job you do it on, but it has no bearing on the starting city state storyline when you do NG+. The game will automatically default to the same starting city state that you began in back when your character was first created. I’m assuming this is due to a flag on your character, since each city state storyline is tied to an achievement you get upon completion.

The NPCs you meet, the solo duties, and the base lore of the starting areas are much different to one another, plus they don't have the same quests until around level 15 or so.

Quickest and easiest thing to do is to start two alts, one in each of the cities you haven't already seen in the story. Just make sure the class you choose is appropriate for that city.

Run around for the time necessary for quests up to level 15, get through the second set of major scenes in the MSQ and you're done. [Alternatively, get through that first set of dungeon instances and go on until you get past the "Hi, wanna be a Scion?" quest and then you're done.]

The 'starting city' of your avatar has absolutely no bearing after the first set of dungeon instances in-game. You are free to believe yourself to have started out in another city, etc., as RP does not require a one-to-one validation with your character sheet.

Id like the option to re start from 2.0 at lvl 1 with my RPR or SGE to experience the game with those jobs arcs to experience them as if they were there from the start , with the same skill progression ARR jobs had

It would need to have a NG+ lvl saved , then go back your real lvl once you leave NG+ mode , naturally , but it would be a nice option to re do 2.0-6.0 from lvl 1 on any job.

1. Explore the other 2 game start cities
2. Get the achievements for the other 2 starting cities.
