Cactpot is just RNG where you always try 1,2,3 with the X pattern strategy. Clicking at the right time is dumb easy, I can get where I want to click 90% of the time thanks to all those hours playing at the gold saucer. Crafting is knowing your skills so if someone uses a program to help figure what next button to press then it's no different than being a max level omni-crafter. The bigger problems involve competition. There was another thread about PvP cheating, this is a big problem and part of why I'm tired of tournament-anything in MMOs. It's tiring to try and keep up against player bots / assistant help. I was in the top 10 for the firament the first and second time. But it wasn't easy. In the leaderboard there were obvious bots crafting/gathering 24/7. It's these things that are problems, I don't care if someone cheats their way to level 90 or has a bot to run praetorium. IDC because it's not my sub and it's their fun that gets ruined. It only starts bothering me when they cheat against other players like the issues above, gathering bots, market bots, multi-boxing price bots etc...
Just looked up the tools mentioned here with very easy google, and the one I've known about for a while-

I wouldn't categorize many of these as minuscule in benefits, if not I'd consider some of them insane QoL improvements (or maybe a bit 'cheaty' but at least not so much that it's into someone elses space). I'd also note it appears a lot of these different tools / devs are actively trying not to mess with other player's experience, just improve the experience for those who use it.

Here some that stuck out at me as I went through ones I've learned here or via reddit (mostly via reddit to be honest):
    • Put housing objects where and how you want without having to deal with glitches
    • Turn your combos into stuff that looks like pvp combos
    • Deadly Boss mod (tells you what is coming up and sometimes what to do to deal with the mechanic)
    • Notifications for skills and events (like if a player uses provoke, someone dies, you have a skill off cooldown, etc)
    • Marks players that have debuffable debuffs, mark players that can be raised or if someone else is raising them
    • Tells you you and others damage (parse)
    • Check the market without being near the market
    • Tell you when hunts are spotted and where they are exactly (based on community data I guess, so it's not a perfect system)
    • Reduce a hardcoded animation lock so you can double and triple weave
    • Hide or change players (graphics in general)
    • Modify UI elements (though that should be obvious by this point)
    • Help you play cactpot
    • Help you play Triple Triad (NPCs only) - I want to note here that is is pretty interesting that developers self control their works to try and not to ruin other player's experience. Kind of sweet/cute.
    • Info in deep dungeons
    • Show exactly where your trigger pixel is so you can dodge AoE's insanely well
    • More powerful UI features in general like filtering spam, blocklist, teleport ease, etc.
    • Macros that can call other macros or be as long as you'd like
    • Improved mouse over macros
    • Most epic one I saw, adds chat bubbles.. XD
