I'd draw the line on if these tools are able to predict "random" mechanics like from the bosses in Smileton.

Okay great. But if it's random, any tool would be unable to predict it. You know why? Because they get their info from the server at the same time your client does. There is literally nothing any tool could do to somehow read the future.
I could swear I heard from a PS4 friend that the alexander creator had made a tool for them as well... but he might've been wrongHonestly Alexander's built in latency mitigation is a godsend for certain players and i'd hate to see it go away for that reason alone, and most of these are rather benign, instead of trying to get rid of them for PC players, we should really be asking if some of these couldn't be baked into in game systems so that console also has access to things like better ui customization and such
I feel like these threads pop up when people find out their friends can use mods and then throw a tantrum out of jealousy or envy. Just...save up for a PC and let the PC people continue to use them. It's been stated multiple times that Yoshi is NEVER putting anything into PCs that will be able to detect these mods/plugins. It's illegal in several countries around the world so they literally can't because the game is global.
Save up for a PC, even if it takes you a while. This doesn't help anything and the odds of them implementing any of the stuff available to the game itself are slim to none.
...And, sure enough, on the opposite extreme:
Are we going to call watching a guide the same thing as having a bot give voice call-outs of each mechanic 5 seconds before its first cue as per certain (starting around T9 era) ACT plugins?
Yes, a player could have done those call-outs, but that still requires having a player who knows the mechanics and is capable of doing those call-outs, let alone so consistently, and I would think there's a reason XIVLauncher, Dalamud Plugins, and the like typically refuse to publish such addons through their tools.
I never said it was a cheat not to know what's coming. I merely implied that a tool that makes it so no one in a party need to know what's coming would be a cheat. So it isn't a cheat to know what's coming.
Virtually all plug-ins available through convenient sources merely make use of information already available to the player and can be quite earnestly classified as mere QoL or features most would agree should already be in the game by default (e.g., being able to see the timers on party list buffs).
Those that do more than that, though, are typically obfuscated for a reason. You may disagree with the distributor's philosophy on what makes a cheat or not or what they wish to provide access to, but there is reasoning behind it.
I think you'd usually be safe to say that which is literally part of the player, one of the two parties in question, cannot count as "third-party".

Sorry, I just could not resist taking it 1 step further when reading this bit of your post......Used YouTube to learn about your job? Third-party tool. Banned.
Visited the Balance? Third-party tool. Banned.
Used Garland Tools to more handily figure out where to get the materials for what you intend to craft? Third-party tool. Banned.
Used a calculator at some point? Third-party tool. Banned.
Recorded your gameplay for future reference or sharing? Third-party tool. Banned.
Streamed on Twitch? Third-party tool. Banned.
Mathed out your chances for optimizing your Cactpot on a piece of paper? Not SE's. Banned.
Using anything to interact with the game that is not really hurting others, is a third party tool. By OP's logic, that would mean the following:
-Using your hands to move your character. Banned.
-Using your eyes to see what is happening in the game. Banned.
-Using your brain to solve quick maths in the game for any kind of progression. Banned.
SE clearly needs to ban humans from the game because those things make it easier and we just can't have that.
Not sure if bait or not, but I just so enjoy biting either way:
By this logic, do we also ban people living close to the servers cause they don't even need this XIVAlexander thing to get the effect it provides? Maybe OCE will want to reconsider getting their own Datacentre.
Jests aside:
To anyone who geniuenly cares about this issue and isn't just baiting, you should be complaining to Square about the shoddy netcode that prompted people to create such tools in the first place. If Square were to fix ping-related weaving issues, no one would have need for it.
Is this a troll post?
How is that harming you, they get mgp or whatever faster. Its not like they are teleporting all over the place, gathering and messing up the economy for the server.
Wow just wow... Ik anyways any discussion is pointless there but dam you ppl impress me anew every time...I feel like these threads pop up when people find out their friends can use mods and then throw a tantrum out of jealousy or envy.
