Thats very nice of you to ignore points i mentioned if not for those fancy mods moving waymarks we'd still be able to move them in combat which i used to regularly employ when running stuff with FC. People made bunch of mods to make mechanics easier so dev solution was to disable moving waymarks during combat.
Mods just made my and bunch of other people's gameplay WORSE because of mods. Thats a simple example.
Are you saying all those mods that read network packets, change how they are sent, predict mechanics that regular players cannot see and draw aoe that cant be seen normally (limited cut for example and now yojimbo) for you are fine? This should be allowed and just we all should just "not care"? Is that your point?

All 3rd party software tempering with code/network packets should be disabled or made baseline.
One thing is just cheking your damage with combat log to parse, another thing is slowing you telegraphs you cant see, changing how client communicates with server to tripple weave and such.
I'll need a source for that Yojimbo stuff and not what basically is a paint edited screenshot.

Yes, I don't care, because they don't affect me. I can still do this content without them. Why would it matter to me if someone decides to play this game in easy mode?

This doesnt work with yojimbo. The only reason that the hit region is displayed is to allow players to learn the behaviour better and see the interaction. In theory it would even work if none of that got displayed. But the entire idea is that you look at those pillars to decide your action. If a tool (or the game itself) displays it early, the entire challenge is simply just removed. Hence i would consider such tool as a cheat in this case.

And even though MGP is essentialy useless after you purchased all items (which over time is well doable). I do not consider this an excuse to allow usage here.

If it realy matters, chocobo racing is a fast way to obtain MGP (each race of 2 minutes you can get on average 500MGP, giving you a potential 5000MGP every 20minutes from just racing). Put some gates in between that, and you are going to near the 30k per hour already. Just to give a scale on how fast MGP can be obtained.

Also, tempering with netcode is something you should never allow anyway, even if this isnt a PvP game. There can be major unintended effects when this is allowed. And i can give a tf2 example of a worst case scenario. In tf2 at one point you were able to adjust the lag compensation. And when this was done to 'correct' your ping from 200ms to 600ms. It gave you 0.4s of time in which the game was in a frozen state. And during that time you could still aim with a sniper rifle, and that guaranteed a headshot. On community servers it was abused that much, it basicly required 1 admin to constantly watch for players doing that and ban them instantly (until 1 of our admins simply made a server mod that disabled a player from dealing any damage for 2s after changing that setting, while we were waiting for valve to fix it).
You realy dont want to open up this possibility. It much better to consider tempering in such way a bannable offense.

This is already possible, google ffxivalexander mod. It should be disabled on dev lvl if not intended if intended it should be made baseline.

Last time that an addon went "too far" SE removed the ability to put markers during combat. Sure, not a big deal for the most part, but sometimes, particular in 24m raids, was useful if you happen to end with players that don't really know what to do and you did not have time to put them before someone pulled.

I rather SE add their own addons support to FFXIV so they don't have to resort to such heavy handed solutions when something they don't approved is created.

AFAIK the devs of this warn you against going too far with this if you compile it (It's all open) as the servers can detect if you are doing skill requests far beyond what you should be. All that thing does is compensate for lag for oGCD animation lock, allowing for classes like MCH to be playable at higher ping.

No matter what their intention, it should be baseline.

No, they shouldn't. All it's going to do, if official add-on support is given to PC players, is piss off the console crowd even further since they won't have access to it. I feel like people don't actually understand the limitations of modding/using plugins on console and should take a few minutes to read about it.

Keeping it unsupported and a general..."We're not getting involved unless it hits our profits or our legal team."...is the right way to do it in my opinion.

By adding add-on support what I mean is to do what Blizzard did with WoW, or other games like Warhammer Online/Wildstar, and is creating a LUA API that people will use to make addons with it. I really fail to see how hard will be to make it also available for console unless we are talking about some limitations imposed by Sony.
