Anyone else who's playing in the PS4 experienced this problem?

Does server congestion even affect the launcher to the point where you can't even login?
Sometimes when booting the launcher I get stuck on "Connecting to Playstation Network" and even if it did make it through the launcher would be empty as well (telling me to try again). It seems to happen a lot especially during night time.

I'm playing on the Japanese server (Elemental) by the way, would really appreciate some workaround for this.

Is the system connected directly to the router? Additionally, have you tried to alleviate the issue?

Yes, my PS4 is connected to the router through Ethernet cable. Also I've tried restarting my router and console a bunch of times.

Unfortunately, the issue you are describing is not something we are able to assist with. As this is an issue connecting to the Playstation Network, you will need to contact Sony in regard to the issue.
