I see nothing wrong with ears poking through hats though? I was wearing the reaper hood today and I thought it looked great... wearing an actual hat was so mesmerizing to me I struggled to focus in the dungeon because I kept zooming in and checking myself out. With certain hats, more specifically the Red mage hats I think our ears poking out would still look good. If the look worked in FF tactics then it surely can work in XIV.

C'mon SE, even a male Au Ra can wear then and the hat clip everything around the horn, why viera can't do that? Just clip it i think ppl won't mind....

It was stated before the race was available that they would not be able to wear any headgear but some devs worked (for free I assume) behind the scenes to make some headgear available. I doubt this is ever going to change - bunny ears and hats just do not mix.

The ears are a convenient excuse to not having to make all viera hairs have the proper deform every other race has when wearing a hat.

I was thinking the same thing. They can just put your base hair color underneath like they do with some other hairstyles so we could wear some of these hats without insane clipping through some of the huge viera hairstyles.

This is still utterly baffling to me. That they really came in and said, have these two new races that are both going to have massive limitations despite getting... next to nothing unique or interesting in exchange.

Also, the thing is the developers know we can't have anything to compensate for our limitations because the forums would be full of other races demanding the same things that we get.

What bugs me the most right now is.. We can wear the dungeon hats.. but we cannot wear HALF of the AF gear hats - which literally comes AFTER all the dungeons. Like what. I fail to see logic in here where there should be some. óô

they could've spent some time and money on hiring some modelers to deal with that issue, you know

or they could just do what they've done for literally every single hairstyle they ever released/will release for any other races for starters, but I guess it's convenient not to.

Huh? I don't have an issue with ears poking through hats, in fact I want them to, or at least have ear pockets. Almost all the new headgear models cut off a miqo'te's ears in EW. If they cannot be bothered modify a hat on a race that can already wear hats to allow their ears to show, why would they put in the effort allow Viera to properly wear a hat?
