It's ironic that we talk about feedback though - Because this exact thread is just a solid argument of why the developers aren't exactly rushing out of their seats to develop new and innovative content when we have people busting out their fists over a lost dungeon, or a lost level 89 gearset, or the reuse of certain assets "cuz mah quota". Many people don't understand that development time is a finite resource. The developers branching out and developing content such as Ishgard Restoration, Ocean Fishing, Island Sanctuary, or Deep Dungeon is always going to cause certain cuts in other areas of the content.
Deep dungeons were cut from SHB one way or another and I'd say it's debatable whether it was branching out that really caused the issue here, or whether there is other work going on behind the scenes (e.g. implementation of male viera.) Whether branching out is a good thing or not is subject to consumer tastes and execution - it comes down to how much you want to experiment and how much of it you can afford. My point is, if those forms of content are failing to satisfy enough customers to make them worthwhile, then it is useful to know 1) that they're not pleasing enough customers to do so (although this isn't always forefront of their concerns), and 2) why that may be. 2) can be difficult to achieve because not all customers are able to articulate their complaints well enough, but in some cases it is sufficient to simply know that they don't like something and then work from there. Telling people to quit if they don't like the game does not really help the developer in any way and it is the mindset of the most out of touch developers out there. Nor does customers shouting down the complaints of other customers help much. Disagreement is fine, whereas telling others to quit over grievances is to no one's benefit.

I am not talking about compliance with TOS here but whether as a company you'd rather people just walked away from your product without telling you why or whether you'd at least want them to articulate their reasons to the degree that they're able to. SE has had quite a few awful failures of products in recent years and FF14 is one of its few consistently profitable IPs. Yet it is easy to grow complacent in a market where some of your competitors are imploding, in part because they themselves are dismissive of their consumers and take them for granted.
