If Venat told us sooner, there's a chance we wouldn't have gone to Elpis at all. So we wouldn't have experienced the events there and Venat wouldn't have knowledge of Meteion to share with us. She had to be sure we had done those events before she could talk about it with us.

In regards to zones, big doesn't necessarily mean better. The HW zones could be quite a slog, since they weren't really doing a lot with that space. This is a common complaint some AAA games also get, where they advertise having these big zones but they're empty. I'd much rather have smaller, succinct zones.

FFXIV is boring by design. Its content is timegated so that people can progress at their own pace and no one falls behind. The director said to unsubscribe if you are bored because there isn't enough content to keep a player active throughout its entire duration. Endwalker has $40 worth of cutscenes and the occasional dungeon, it's not the greatest cinematic experience of all time but it's something decent to hold the average person over until endgame. Then there's roughly $13 of content each month in repeatable instances and raids. That's basically it. FFXIV isn't an all-encompassing social experience like WoW or many other games in that endeavor, and I don't believe Square Enix ever intended for it to be.

Remember, when S.E. made ARR, they were just trying to patch a hole in the numbered Final Fantasy series. They didn't want their fourteenth entry to stand out as being particularly horrible, so they fixed it up real quick. And since it was a success, they put out expansions to eke out a little bit more from that. And to be fair, we are getting the usual Final Fantasy experience with this game. We have an epic story, villains and heroes, tons of customization, and some longevity with its multiplayer. It's worth the money, just not all the time. You wouldn't play FFXIII and its sequels every day since its release, so I don't think FFXIV was intended to be much different.

thanks, your post made me laugh, brightened my evening considerably. especially WoW being an "all encompassing social experience". I guess you are right though, it brings the unpaid work experience and daily grind to a computer near you.. how is that social though?

They literally said that FFXIV isn't a bad experience, I don't know why you're so triggered about this.

That's like... an opinion though. I have plenty of friends that LOVE FFXIV but prefer the social experience WoW offered as well. I never played WoW, but I do agree that others MMOs I played were better in that regard. Idk why someone liking an aspect of another game made you screech tbh.

I swear to god they better release something really big to compensate for the lack of content on EW release. Right now if you're not a raider or a crafter/gatherer there's literally nothing to do in the game besides completing older content which is fine but also not for everyone.

How about we get new deep dungeon, new relic weapons, new land for housing they were hinting at on top of other new content that we don't know about yet? That'd be cute.
