I hope this finds everyone Well and into the new Year! I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the Dark knight and some possible changes to the class you might propose. I have all the tanks level'd to 90 and raid with all of them on a Daily Basis. I'm a tank main at heart and Feel Dark Knight is falling behind. It's damage output is good. But it's utility kit and Cooldowns are a bit "lacking" I'm sure millions of people have proposed changes. However after careful consideration and thought, reading posts from the DRK mega thread etc. The Dark Knight's lore is based on listening to the inner shadow we seek to find and embody throughout the job quests. I propose these changes, to reflect the embodiment of the Dark Knight, historically, and through other Final Fantasy titles produced in the past these Changes.
1. Living Shadow-Change the cooldown to A 30 second Duration and a 30second Cooldown. Change the potency from 300 to 400 Respectively. Also, please take away the 4 seconds it takes to summon the shadow within the window of it being summoned. This will ensure dps sustain the other tanks have. Also Add a heal to you that the shadow does every attack with a potency of 75.
2. Living Dead-Nothing is wrong with this skill other then the full health restoration required by healers. I propose instead of the full health heal, It will kill the Shadow you have summoned in its place. the shadow must then be summoned again no matter what cooldown the shadow has on it, to ensure Balancing.
3.Blood Weapon- This skill needs to be removed entirely from the tool bar and instead be a Trait. The current level 84 trait "Enchanced Unmend" needs to be replaced with "Blood Weapon" This trait upgrade every attack except edge of shadow and flood of shadow. This will Solve the MP problems And problems the Dark Knight Has both defensively and offensively.
4.Abyssmal Drain-This skill needs to be changed to a higher heal potency of 350 instead of 200. Also, make this skill have 2 charges for Balance purposes.
5.Carve and Spit-There are a few changes I feel need to be proposed here.
A. Lose the shared Cd of this to Abysmal Drain.
B. Every Flood of Shadow or Edge of shadow reduces the Cooldown of this skill by 5 seconds.
6.Salted Earth-The only thing I think is of note is to add 5second Area of Effect Stun to this skill. This skill is on a 90s cooldown and needs to be adjusted to 60s to ensure more utility other then just dmg.
In closing these proposed Changes will not only bring the Dark Knight back into the picture in the tanking world, but will bring a much better Kit to the Dark Knight Job as a whole. This will make Dark Knight much more enjoyable to play. Thank you Development team for your consideration and I hope this will be read and considered.
