Adding content when your servers can't handle the load

Look, updates are cool, we all like them, but......I think this is just a mistake. You added more content to keep people playing at the same time that you have massive queue times and are stating you don't even have a road map to fixing it yet.

I love the game. I love the community, but this is just not a good idea. You should have delayed and not added content until you at least had some sort of fix.

As of right now I basically can't play. My life is hectic and I can generally only play at small chunks at a time. This needs fixed, or at least a plan to fix it that you are talking about with a real timeline. How many months do you expect people to wait?

FYI right now my queue is 3117 and hasn't moved for 5 minutes.

They're working on content, fixes and new servers simultaneously. Telling half the company to take vacations for a few months isn't going to help the game.

Question. If they had delayed the content.. how would that have improved your experience today?

Do you think there would be less people playing right now so you'd be able to get in faster?
Would this be worth pushing back all the content for the new releases until they could have servers setup (likely months out)?

All things considered, it seems like the best course of action is to continue with the release schedule so at least when people get in they have content to consume.

Not untrue, but still untrue because there's currently a queue with the number of people playing the game for subscribed players. At the same time, not all subscribed players are in Endwalker yet. Content is still "new" for people who haven't finished all recent content (and new players join FFXIV all the time, consider how often I get Duty Finder's "first time bonus" for a person doing the duty for the first time). Then, even if less people play, there will always be the free trial players who join, as well as all the people who are trying FFXIV on the free trial. These people cannot login while there's a queue, but just because there will be less people, doesn't mean the game won't be any less full unless it's on non-peak hours.

Just look at how full the worlds were in ShB expansion, a couple months before Endwalker release. Naturally, this problem will persist even if they didn't add new content until their servers expand. Sure the queue might end up being shorter because there might be less subscribed players logging in, but it's erroneous to assume the worlds won't be full and there will be less people online such that you no longer have to wait on queue.

Was mid raid of P1s making really great prog (40%) until SE decided that I should be disconnected with 90002 error then smacked into a 3.6k queue so

OK, I get you're frustrated. But realize that there are a lot of people who are still able to play. Just because you can't, doesn't mean other people shouldn't be able to.

Yes, if you're only able to play at night, when the servers are flooded, it absolutely sucks. Morning players like myself are still happy with the added content.

That's not really what I mean. I get that, and cool, but new content makes it worse....directly. That makes it seem like you should hold off when you can't handle it.

If you and every other person who is always stuck in a queue really want to get their attention, unsub and stay unsubbed until they fix the problem. Right now, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by waiting out the current situation rather than outbid and outpay for a limited resource.

I know it sucks to admit it, but that is the current situation and as long as everyone is still paying them, regardless of ability to access what you are paying for, then they would be silly to spend money to fix it.,

Yeah but that only works if enough people do that, and they know the reason. So I take to the forums and complain, in the hopes that something will change.
