Only 2. Having to pay a sub is a lot enough as it is for me, paying more just to have more space is a nope for me. I'd rather throw away stuff I don't strictly need.

Seriously SE bring on the dye box, tacklebox, materia box and token consolidation already, especially the latter.

The removal of HQ gatherer stuff did nothing for me since I only had HQ mats anyway. Ingredients I can buy at a vendor are never stored, same with dyes.

Used to have a total of 8, dropped down to 4, and sometimes feel I might be able to use another...but then I just NPC stuff that is on the market for less than 500gil. While I may be losing out on in-game money in the long run, I'm not spending more real money to hold more stuff.

4. 2 are mostly full of glamour, one for crafting mats and other misc crap like totems and such, and one for housing stuff

4 retainers. 2 free, 2 paid. 2 botanists, 1 miner, and 1 samurai. One retainer has all of my dyes, materia, old raid currencies, etc, and another has a lot of diadem crafting materials. I was stashing a ton of housing items on my other retainers until I finished redecorating my apartment and vendored the stuff I wasn't using.

All of them sell their respective materials or crafted goods as needed. Keeping each retainer selling only the stuff related to what they're designated to hold helps me keep track of what actually sells.

I have three, two free, one paid for.

One for materia, outdoor furniture, home exterior items, indoor items like walls, floors, and ceiling lights, and some season furnishings.
One for my job and role specific glamour items.
And the last for general glamour and dyes.
