How many retainers do you have?

I was riding smoothly just using two, until I came back from an hours-long Diadem trip to find that the 40 market board slots just wasn't doing it, splitting up my stacks of items as I usually do. So I caved and paid the extra 2 bucks for another retainer.

And it got me thinking; You can have up to 10 of these for a combined total of 200 market board slots... Do people even need that many? Another sub on top of your existing sub just to be able to machine-gun shards onto the MB?

So here I am, wondering, asking. How many retainers do you have?

Bonus points if you share their names. Mine are Spaceflow, Spaceway (apparently a premonition for the Lopporits since this one was named mid-ShB) and the newly added Spacedrift.

Still 2. I sold most of my out of date mats. Clearing glamour that can be bought as well.

Here's a story for you - I know someone who had to hire additional retainers because... the max amount of gil you can hold is 999,999,999.

Your retainers can also only hold up to 999,999,999 gil.

They basically had to get another retainer so they could keep making more money.

I have 4 retainers. It's not too often I don't have most of the 80 MB slots selling any extra goodies. It's nice to have extra's if you desynth gear from dailies or general trust runs, or if you are a heavy crafter and/or gatherer it's helpful.

Only two now. A few years ago I had six - but they were just filled with junk really. Made myself have a mssive cleanout and now I make myself be strict with what I keep, haha.

It started back when they first introduced the additional retainers service, because I was hoarding all kinds of crafting materials, both HQ and NQ. I had two combat retainers and three gathering retainers.

Then I think it was in 4.x when I decided to get rid of all the crafting materials, and I started hoarding leveling gear. One retainer for each main stat (VIT/MND/STR/DEX/INT).

Now in 6.0 I'm thinking of dumping those leveling gear as most of my jobs are over 70, with only two or three under 70, meaning I could use Trusts for leveling and get all the gear I need anyways, and I've taken a renewed interest in crafting so I need all the storage space I could get.

Thought about just getting more retainers but I already feel the hassle with 5 retainers.
