Go to post #3, it will line out a lot of the pvp changes, but to give you a TL;DR:
- 4v4 Feast replaced by 5v5 Crystal Conflict, which has no role restrictions (just no double jobs in a single team)
- Battle pass system to encourage playing pvp in general, all pvp modes will improve progress, will have rewards tied to it and previous battle pass rewards may be obtained via tokens if you were late (anti-FOMO)
[ ! ] This will not replace the Top 100 Ranked rewards that will continue to exist with Crystal Conflict, Season =/= Series (battle pass)
- in accordance to facilitate play without role restrictions and thus make playing without a healer less a pain, the jobs will receive MAJOR reworks in the following ways:
>> Every job will have their role-based Limit Break replaced by a job-unique one, most likely with different effects and powers (think Overwatch ultimate abilities)
>> Due to a new expansion, the new toolkits will be reintroduced in this patch, revamping most jobs
>> Healing / survival will be distributed to shift the agency over someone's survival to the individual, facilitating less stress on healers who are present and reducing the need for healers.
>> [THEORY] Because of this, healers may shift to more supportive roles, potentially increasing their damage output as well in exchange for losing healing power.
I'd like to add that we knew about them working on a large pvp overhaul for a LONG time now. So as abyssmal the official support of pvp has been in the meantime, does not actually mean they are not working on it. It is just that the problem of PvP additions are fundamentally more difficult to implement than most think. So please, give them time.
