So cos the game doesn’t have open world PvP it won’t survive. Let me revisit this thread in a few years and see if it’s still here. Just checking though, it’s been 8 years since ARR right? Ah yes it has, the lack of PvP hasn’t had an impact

There is a layer of PvP. It just isn't thrown in your face. I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about. We start at the base on FF game with a story that we loved one day, for me it's 1#FFVII 2#FFX and FFXII 3#FFVIII, each his tastes is sure but added a simple layer of pvp will not hurt you, and will attract many new players who will pve with you, so the fact of not liked does not come into account if it does not bother you in any way, created several maps, several dungeons, raids, boss and simple monster takes a lot of time to develop, while creates a simple alternative content to satisfy the most beastly desires will be so productive that missing out on this dimension is just a deterrent for any new players
Just a question, I see a lot, following combo sequence and all that, but pvp is precisely breaking this cycle and having difficulties to beat the opponent because he adapts to your style and vice versa so what makes that, any moment is different, rarely repetitive, it is precisely what brings the difficulty (for the one who wishes of course) and for example of PvPvE, black crystal has a bad influence about the world of Eorzea, BUT.. Black crystal is protected by NeoBahamut and his followers, which of the companies will be the gardians of Eorzea by beating the first Neo Bahamut ?? Incredible loot at the key, starts again every week and during the rest of the week there winning company, will win new items and buffs of champions to face the rest of the world of Eorzea, until the next awakened of the dark force and its unhealthy influence (example of rule for the event: 100 players from each faction maximum on the PvPvE raid area, checkpoint not far, different buff to activated on the way, all in the center of the map dedicated to the PvPvE. Several servers of 300 players, each server gives the victorious the buff of champions during the windfall, after returning to the traditional map and the event map will be closed for a week.
Every other major MMO has way better PvP, this game needs open world pvp zones and guild vs guild to spice things up.
I have already waited 45 minutes 4x for pvp and it never started, I understand that some players prefer pve but there is serious, there is nothing for pvp in short, and then in this case, it comes down to playing with the half of your brain.. 0% créativity. I repeat but play FF simply RPG or cooperative we know, and all the players present are PvE players, Square Enix could win much more and we also by adopting another strategy (On mmo like here), besides making RPGs as always it is very important because they have the art of doing that well. 100% PvE players and 0% PvP players. This is a huge enrichment to be made for the future of FF in MMOs especially if it does not bother PvE players.
FFXIV has PVP, but it's not the focus.Just a question, I see a lot, following combo sequence and all that, but pvp is precisely breaking this cycle and having difficulties to beat the opponent because he adapts to your style and vice versa so what makes that, any moment is different, rarely repetitive, it is precisely what brings the difficulty (for the one who wishes of course) and for example of PvPvE, black crystal has a bad influence about the world of Eorzea, BUT.. It's a gamemode that doesn't get great amounts of attention. Would any of us mind if it did? No, not really, as long as it didn't divert the focus away from what the game is.
XIV isn't a traditional MMORPG in the way the genre has been described in the past. It's more a cooperative RPG experience, with a heavy focus on main story. The devs have always said that they were out to create a Final Fantasy game first, and MMO second. PVP is one of those things that gets pushed to the wayside for this.
Sorry that isn't your cup of tea.
If you want PvP you came to the wrong game.
I notice that PvE players pull the game down, because you don't mind OK for that, but this game is seen as an RPG game and attracts less people so less money coming in because fewer players stay (Imagine that a potential new player asks on a forum, about pvp and that without thinking it answers him, no pvp here! now without real pvp you are in the majority with the pve, but I assure you that if there is pvp, you will be largely in the minority) so less expansion on the part of the developers because they too are convinced that it will not work, So more and more difficult to develop because a pvp balance is complex to establish, so FF will evolve less quickly than the others until the day when it won't work enough and THAT FF will have forged a bad publicity. The trend will be PvPvE, games that are too pvp will adopt a more immersive story and pve games have already adopted a PvP strategy. Both sides fund the balances of a game that works at 110%

This isn't a PvP focused game and I don't think it ever will be. Personally I have seen more PvP games fail than PvE focused games.I notice that PvE players pull the game down, because you don't mind OK for that, but this game is seen as an RPG game and attracts less people so less money coming in because fewer players stay (Imagine that a potential new player asks on a forum, about pvp and that without thinking it answers him, no pvp here! now without real pvp you are in the majority with the pve, but I assure you that if there is pvp, you will be largely in the minority) so less expansion on the part of the developers because they too are convinced that it will not work, So more and more difficult to develop because a pvp balance is complex to establish, so FF will evolve less quickly than the others until the day when it won't work enough and THAT FF will have forged a bad publicity. Enjoy Life you only get one.
This game doesn't have to be 50% pvp and 50% pve That's for sure it remains final fantasy BUT 25% Pvp and 75% pve it will already be good, especially if it's not Pvp in its purest state, except with an arena system, but PvPvE, because I wonder how many players don't start FF just for that [No pvp here!] O.o ... ... ... All PvP players will chain PvE raids so this is an example of interest for all. And as final fantasy are good for PvE content..
