Why does this game still cater to exploiters and cheaters?

but, yeah. i'm getting pretty sick of how cheating goes completely unpunished in ffxiv. the main draw of ff mmos is supposed to be the community- but a community full of lazy, entitled cheaters is a pretty shitty one. just look at our wonderful forums for evidence

I know. I was saying that either SE will leave things how they are, and people will quit prior to 50 once they find out they need 4 jobs at 50 to get anything done endgame, or SE will make it insanely easy for them to level up turning this into WoW. The main reason i make this point is because SE almost exclusively creates end-game content to cater to the current crowd (and they have to in order to prevent people from quitting). But once you get an influx of new players, you either have to make their leveling fun (and grinding the same thing 100000 times for 10 levels isn't really fun) or make it really easy to get to max level with multiple jobs. Most MMO companies have found that making it really easy to max level will please the customers the most, SE will probably take that route. Andthat might work if FFXIV was like FFXI with fun end game stuff. But its not. Endgame here is so bad that people spend hours exploiting it to avoid actually having to do it the legit or intended way. That tells you something.

Gil people accumulated doesnt harm anyone really because the only time you need to purchase gear is from lv 40-49 then its back to raid gears/AF.

Again, people exploit garuda doesnt harm anyone. Get off your high horse. I myself is still 3/7 and waited for bug fixes because i find blm burn boring, though i dont whine because people that expoits doesnt harm me in anyway possible.

What is this thread trying to achieve?

You want to end PL then find a way to let people of different levels play with each other simple. It's gotten to the point where there are so many 50's that any new player who asks for help alot of the time are ignored unless they want a 50 plowing through whatever it is they are doing.For many new players the choice of running around playing by yourself or getting PL to join everyone isn't a hard decision. This game isn't terribly exciting by yourself.

Oh hello again cynical Azury, it's been awhile since your last negative post about FFXIV and SE per usual hasn't it? They already stated their focus is on relaunching the game, which is a mere 5 months away in terms of beta and shortly after that for the official launch.

If you want to talk about "catering to exploiting" you're barking up the wrong development team, you should be barking up the korean and chinese development tree.

Oh dont get me wrong. I didnt like the exploit, i was happy they are fixing it.

But i still stands with my sentiment, nobody got hurt for exploiting it. Its not like the game suddenly fails bc everyone has garuda weapon, nothing changes at all. Nothing.

It only hurts few people's feeling that thinks they are better than everyone else just because they takes pride in their legit kill.

if exploits are allowed then people expect other to exploit to keep up with gear. And people who want to play legit (most people) fall behind and don't get to experience as much of the game, while those who cheat prosper.

For example in this game a lot of people i know want to do fishing, but see no point in it because it is so heavily botted that it will never be profitable.

Allowing exploits is just generally a bad idea. I personally don't care however.

It is a strange argument you send up for debate OP. It is full of contradictions and seriously makes no sense.

You say you are worried for the new players. Do you play with any new players? The ones I play with every day have never ever said "I have nothing to do, they make all new content for end game".

The botting comment is just insulting. I know several people who are 50 fishing and never botted.

You make up percentages, make up problems that do not exist. All to frame the idea that...what? You do not like how the game is easy in some aspects? Why not just say what you mean and not make large generalizations based on singular situational facts and/or made up data?

I am really not trying to be hostile...but I actually read your whole thing. It is manipulative in its nature. You know this. It is supposed to illicit a specific feeling or idea that agrees with you. It is not about communication...and that is what is making me a bit peevish in this post.

But if you can just state clearly, in a declarative sentence, what it is that troubles you. Then I would be way in to discussing it.
