Let me say that while your post is cynical, it is not "whining" as the majority of the community has been able to label it. I have a degree in Computer Science so allow me to give my opinion on the "botting" issue.

A bot is a program that hi-jacks the controls of the game and then control the character to do specific movements or actions. These programs vary greatly and are not easily blocked. the developers/producers can not flip a switch, press a button, or change one thing to fix this issue. A lot of the mechanics of the current game were based on the premise to combat RMT and bots. The market wards and the mini-game crafting/gathering system are good examples of these.

Another by product of the attempts to stop botting is the sluggish interface. From what I have heard the interface takes input from the client, send it to the server to be verified that the action was done by a person, not a bot, then the action is preformed. While this seems like a good idea on paper, the time it takes for that information to travel to and from the server is an issue.

As I am sure you are aware the development team is focusing on implementing features they are planning on having in v2.0. So while there may be a glitch that can be exploited, I am sure that while they do want to fix it, it may not be the first thing they have in the queue.

Botting is an issue in any MMO. It has not been stopped nor fixed in any, and there is no definite way to stop it.

While I can not comment on the other mechanics you have touched on (as I have not played as long as most) I hope this sheds some light on why it is hard to stomp out botting.
