    Sharlayan prodigy's suit

I am posting this because I wish to see if people have had the same issue and to see if I am minority in this opinion.

Couple of days ago I bought Sharlayan prodigy's suit and I was very excited to get it in the email. Thinking about all the outfits I can wear those pants with and what to match with that chest peace. Then once I opened it up I realized only then it is an undyeable one suit that covers all visible body parts, except the head gear. In other words, I cannot modify it even slightly, not even the colour.

So as someone who loves to mix and match parts of costumes I was highly disappointed and surprised.

I went back to the mog station and realized that it does not say as usual that it has parts, but only that you get Sharlayan prodigy's suit /1.

    and the description:
Dress up like the always-stylish Alphinaud and Alisaie.
This costume has been tailored to emulate the outfits of the perfectly preened Leveilleur twins. A form-hugging, pristine white suit is paired with a navy-blue top, the bold cutouts and flawless stitching completing a classy and sophisticated design.
Though the differences may be minor, true students of fashion will note that the costume will appear in Alphinaud's style on a man, and Alisaie's style on a woman.
    About This Item
Gear appears differently depending on the character's race. Certain combinations of gear and character type may cause clipping issues.

So it hit me immediately I did not properly read it, but just bought it because I honestly just woke up and booted the comp, saw the optional and immediately assumed it is like all the other ones on the mogstation. With the price being 13.5 Euros I figured it is just as good as the other ones who are dyeable and each piece is it's own slot. If it was like 5-9 Euros I would have thought something is wrong and looked at the description.

I did not even think that it could be a onesie and because of that mistake I have a piece of glam that I payed for with RL money (more than it is worth) that I will not even put in a glamour dresser.

I immediately contacted support to hopefully refund the item, but they sent me an email saying it is not going to happen couple of minutes ago.

Anyhow I am writing this to see if anyone has any simmilar problems with this, did they see and figure out it is a onesie from the post immediately once they saw it, and do they think that this item is worth that money being what it is.

I wont deny that there is also a part of me hoping they will improve this item and at minimum to make it dyeable. But honestly, for that money it should be just as good as any other piece on the market.

In future, you could wait until Meoni reviews the mog station glam and warn you of potential problems.

That sucks, but I think they always show the pieces that are included to the right of the picture so you can mouse over them and see what they are and whether or not they're dyeable.

I doubt they will change anything about this piece though, they never make Scion gear dyeable.

I do feel for you, and I'm sorry this happened.
But it's not *their* fault that you didn't read the description. Because of that, nothing will happen for you.

I mean no one even thinks it is too big of a price for something that bare-boned?

I am not asking for people to think I didn't make a mistake. I did, and I even admitted it. What I am saying is that the outfit is too costly for what it is. Aka it should be less expensive.

What I am trying to do is to make people see that this needs to be done better.

Also; If I have gone to any store and bought a piece of clothing and then day after I return it or even up to couple of weeks after. I would get my money back if the item is unused no matter the reason for me returning it or buying it in the first place.

But gaming companies get away with these things because people who play these games don't care. People just take things on face value.

So I am honestly sad, that no one cares for this unless it is some influencer who said it.

And again, I do not care for the money at all. What I care is that it is unjust.

It's worth whatever people are willing to pay for it and you were willing to pay for it.

Digital goods, be they MP3s, videos, game DLC, or in-game items, are seldom refunded. It is the Way Things Are, and you should always keep that in mind.

On a different note -- who did you contact to ask for a refund?

If it was anyone directly linked to the game (GM, forums, etc), you were asking the wrong people. The Mogstation isn't run by any of them. (That would be like taking your clothing item back to McDonalds for a refund.)

It absolutely is overpriced for what it is, which is why everyone should double check exactly what it is they're buying.

I do sympathize because you bought something you thought you'd enjoy and now you don't, but there have been many discussions about the undyeable outfits they put out (I don't think there are many one-piece glamours so that's rarely brought up) and sadly nothing, not even an influencer talking about it, is gonna change anything about these items unless people stop buying them.

I first tried the mogstation, and they replied to send email to square enix.
This is one of the emails I got:

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.

We are very sorry to hear that you have an issue with an item purchased on the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store. In order for us to look into the matter further, we need you to remove the items from the Mog letter (but do not use them) and reply with the following details:

    - Character name that the item was purchased for
    - World that character is on
    - Date of purchase
    - Item name
    - How much the item cost
    - Confirmation you have removed the item from the Mog letter but the item remains unused

Once we have that information, we can look into the matter further.

Finally, please note that these types of requests are usually treated as an exception and that we cannot guarantee we will be able to help.

We apologise again for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards,

The Square Enix Support Centre team

And then after I gave them all requested information, along with the order number they said this:

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.

We are contacting you regarding your Square Enix account.

Unfortunately, after reviewing your request, we regret to inform you that we will not be providing you with a refund for this purchase.

We apologise for any disappointment this causes.

    Kind regards,

The Square Enix Support Centre team

To my knowledge that is who I was supposed to make the ticket to, and they seem to have decided for it not to be refundable.

And again, I am really not blaming the people who work there, I just think that the way this is done is not good. The item itself should really be less, because with that price, I who was completeloy trusting of them to give me same service as they have before, just bought it.
I know I was foolish and I understand that it was stupid of me to do so. I just think there will be others like me who will pay too big of a price expecting same service.

If anything else people will see this post and realize not to buy it. But ideally I would want them to at least lower the price of the product and all the future ones like it, even if I do not get my money back.

Unfortunately I am the part of the problem in this particular case. But I guess it is why I am trying to get my voice heard now, just so people do not take this as normal.

I know I will not make the mistake again, but maybe others will. The more people are aware, the less probability of mistakes and companies getting away with it.

So far I was never burned by Square Enix, so I trusted them, but I guess I was a fool to do so.

p.s. had to make twi different posts, seems both quotes in one was too long.
