so lets talk about reusing gear sets

now that the late allagan pvp set has been reused too, i feel like they might do that for all remaining pvp sets.

Have I missed something big, or are you meaning the Republican sets that have just been released?

I am actually surprised that the Late Allagan sets haven't made an appearance yet, because most of the gear design contest winners have been recycled in this expansion. Possibly a deliberate choice. The only other one we haven't seen repeated is the Lost Allagan set, whether it's a coincidence that the two Allagan sets are the two not used.

As for recycling all the other PVP sets, it's quite possible – though there aren't really that many to recycle. There's essentially four more sets.

1. "Animal-liege" ARR sets – people have been hoping to have these sets accessible to newer classes for a while, so this would be an opportunity to allow that. This could potentially get spread over two sets though, as there are more than seven designs altogether.
2. "The Twelve" sets from Heavensward
3. "Yokai" sets from Stormblood
4. Late Allagan from Shadowbringers

I think they all have some good designs that I wouldn't mind getting a second set of colour schemes for.

Its pretty lazy for them to reuse sets that also were already able to be dyed. Are the dye channels for these at least different? Doesn't feel like the highest budget expansion yet.

The dye channels are generally different, though I don't think they've picked them well for a lot of the levelling sets – a lot have some kind of weird undyeable part that severely limits the colours you can realistically use on them.

However, as I was saying earlier, the newly released Classical set is actually quite good.

I dont actually mind them Resusing gear sets as long as it is done smartly. I.e reusing the gearsets but shuffle the roles. They did this with the ala mhigo set in SHB and i think it worked out really well.

yeah, reusing sets doesn't bother me when they move the roles around because then I still get a new set of gear. But when its the same set over and over, it is kind of disappointing.

Yeah EW's been pretty disappointing on the new gear set front. Gotta put that money into the narrative and endless voice work for the same speech over and and over while leaving the raids unvoiced.

The fact the raids aren’t even voiced is so disappointing….on top of everything else it just feels like we’re getting less when we should be getting more. The fact they reuse gear and then can’t even role swap it or make it dyable is beyond ridiculous not to mention they literally scammed us out of an entire left side gear set from the 89 dungeon.

The new players are less likely to notice in the first place, and less likely to care if they do notice. We're familiar with these sets, but it's all new to them.

What bugs me even more than re-using sets is the sets they choose to re-use loads of people really like the Warg, Woad and Paglathan sets and all 3 aren't dyeable, honestly gimme dyeable versions of those and I would be ok

I think that’s the problem tbh. They’re at the top, they have no competition so they can afford to be lax and put less effort into the game. Most people will still eat up what they give us anyways.
