    Leveling in Final Fantasy 2.0

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned or asked how 1-50 will be achieved in version 2.0. I have read all the documentation about version 2.0 and I cannot see any new quest systems or levelling content mentioned. This greatly worries me as doing levequests for 50 levels is not very enjoyable for the majority of players. Many like me were turned off by the levequest system during launch, I worry this will happen in ps3 release also. I know many of you might not care as you are already maxed 50. But having a good 1-50 experience is key to designing a good modern mmorpg.

I am hoping for some general answers from Square Enix about any new questing systems, grinding party systems or updated levequests?

Guess it will stay the same. Some things will also be introduced after 2.0. The only thing you can really expect for 2.0 is the new engine, new servers, new maps, new UI and some content. That's about it. A lot will come after 2.0.... don't expect too much.

Powerleveling will need to be removed and leves will need to overhauled. The pacing of leveling is decent in this game, but it's overall boring. The main quest senarios giving a very large portion of EXP was a good start in leveling your first class to 50, but I think the minor city quests need to have a decent EXP chunk in them as well, to give people a chance to level without parties the first time around. Leves are horrible and need to be redesigned from the ground up; I literally cannot find anything redeeming about Battle/Company leves other than that it's better than just fighting something solo that's not in a leve. PLing is fine in the game now, but will have to be done away with in 2.0, otherwise I can't see the game lasting for very long.

Just don't see how Yoshi-P can expect to create one of the best MMORPG's by using levequesting as a primary source of leveling.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you played? If it was recently, you must have a vastly different experience than myself. Leves are pretty decent up until about 25. Beyond that, it's incredibly easy to find a party or make one (I have only logged in once in the last week when someone wasn't at least shouting for a 30-35 party and a 40-50 party). Quests (when you first start) are quite plentiful now and grant respectable exp. From what I have heard when speaking to newer players, you can virtually level up just on quests for the first 20 levels on your first job.

You don't have to rely on leaves from 1-50 and depending how you want to level, not at all. There are random camps all over that work really good for 30-40 and once you hit lvl 40 you can go Uber fast (TOO fast in my opinion) if you go into the beastmen camps. Nice thing about the beastmen camps is you can ket tapers for Ifrit at the same time if your needing them.

If you want to PL you can easily PL from 1-30, but as stated above leave quest will get you from 1-20 or 25 pretty quick then you can grind to 30 and get a good party. Honestly I think using leaves as a brand new player to the game would be a good way to ease in and learn the game mechanics without worrying about finding camps and knowing where good spots are.

But yeah if you are using leavequests to go from 1-50 I can understand you are bored and find the game lacking.

I play almost every day, my initial point isn't about the leveling system not being viable. But more to do with the fact that it has no real depth or story elements. It's just a repeatable system which is boring to most players. I agree that levequests provide a generous amount of experience.

If the only leveling options for this game in 2.0 will be leves and straight up monster grinding, it's going to fail.

From what I gather, Square Enix plans to relaunch Final Fantasy XIV. From my years of mmo experience, my opinion is that the current system for leveling is way too basic and will not sit well with the general gaming community. Square Enix has stated that they want FFXIV to be one of the top mmorpgs on the market. They have also stated they want to have a broad audience ranging from all types of gamers. Judging from their intentions you cannot possibly agree that the current system is friendly and easy for new players to grasp. It is not engaging and is not on par with the current games on the market. This isn't a debate whether or not the leveling speed is good/bad.
