All the charts are based on info from last luckybancho report: Luckybancho survey, July 2021

First of all I would note that for some reason in "Global", "JP", "NA" and "EU" pages of the report all data is outdated and corresponds to April's one. As result of it, what I did was going trough all servers reports manually and combining data from them into regional and then global results.

Also, while this info isn't related to racial distribution, I think it's worth mentioning that in July the size of active playerbase reached 1.207.441 (against 951.467 in April).

Luckybancho considers a player to be active if:
- Their level is higher than 60 (lvl 60 isn't included)
- They have changes in HP/amount of minions and mounts in comparison to previous survey
- Characters without mounts are counted as bots and are excluded

※Keep in mind that provided data is likely not 100% accurate due to how Lodestone works and also due to the fact that we have no way to say how exactly Lucky Bancho aquires and fixes this data. Consider it to be an estimate that helps to understand the trends, with some errors to it.

I'm pleased to see that Hyur and Au Ra are doing so well where male characters are concerned. I think they're the best looking options available at the moment. I'm not at all surprised that Hrothgar are about as niche as Roegadyn. Hopefully we see more focus on additional customisation options for what we have already.

Hyur are a bit of a tricky one, due to the fact their clans have biggest difference in appearance (and there's a huge difference in amount between Midlanders and Highlanders... and I'm not sure that eyebrows is the only reason), but otherwise they always compete with male Miqo'te for taking 1st place in population. As it shows, in July Hyur won with a margin of 4k players (in April 1st place was after Miqo'te with a margin of 3k).

There're also interesting regional dynamics, too (which I updated in main post, added 2 more charts), with clans both being and not being taken into account.

I reckon the influx of WoW refugees will probably push the male ratios up a bit further in EU and NA. Ditto with male Viera, even if they mostly result in diminutions in e.g. catboy or elezen figures. I believe it hovers at something like 55/45% (female/male) for NA, 58/42% for EU and 65/35% for JP (from what I last recall WoW's figures are more or less the inverse, c. 40/60) - they have some affection for the accursed midgets for reasons which continue to elude me. I just do not see the appeal. If you discount Lalafell their preferences for male characters seem to follow a similar pattern to NA and EU.

To be fair, I only chose lalafell because it's the closest you could get to a playable moogle race if you use the moogle head. It's also why I'm hoping eventually we get an Ivalician Moogle player race, so I can ditch using lalafell for good.

From what I've seen, bots drastically boost the male Hyur numbers since they are the default race/gender when you first enter character creation, unless Lucky Bancho filtered them for these numbers.

Guess it shouldn't be as much of a shock as it is to me, was quite surprised when Bioware and Larion released info about most common player settings for character creation and both had something around 60% of players just using the initial default settings.
