    What could be refreshed in 1-50 content range?

    Devs do plan to update things like Cape Westwind and Prae... but what else could be updated to make the ARR part feel smoother?

    For me few points are:

    * Fates and hunting log are handy to level and try out other jobs... but they do seems to fall off in effectiveness around level 20-25 while dungeon roulette queues for DPS on my world are like 12-18 min (instant for Heal/Tank) - maybe improve the exp rewards from fates and extend the hunting log (or also give bonus to side quests of matching levels)?

    * "Role in need" could be expanded in the roulette queue:
    -- option to get tokens that then can be turned in for exp on another job (say 1-50) or like limited subset of items needed for relic grinds, free company crafts or other similar things
    -- "i want to spam roulette for exp" - option to select multiple and make the game optimize where to put you quicker (DPS would likely end up in ARR Crystal Tower )

    * Option to have a custom guildhest for jobs starting at higher level - you get level brackets and some simple task like deal damage with new buttons, heal stuff etc, then automatically or on your request move up - so you can organize and learn all the buttons as they show up (and get to know what will be available on lower levels in roulette if you get such instance)

    * Maybe turn Cape Westwind encounter into a training-style encounter? - we pretend to be recruits after basic training to be evaluated and boss does the evaluation - the encounter goes over all common mechanics while the boss in "This is Thancred" style comments beforehand about upcoming mechanic - what it is, how to handle it etc. Then he realizes we aren't recruits and he does them without commentary

    * Some refresh in Grand Company - make their gear more universal/somewhat scalable when doing alt jobs, dump old poetics gear into something like a heirloom gear? sanction buff extended to say doing fates, hunting log, side quest for bonus exp?


    And overall some vertical problems to think about - right now we are 1-90, but 1-100, 1-110... in the future. The barrier to entry will be ever increasing (crafters, alt jobs and even to some extent MSQ). It can start favoring boosting things or like sitting in Ishgard Restoration for very long and spamming macros.

    My suggestion would be just level 50 content, but making the Coils mandatory seems like a good idea since the raid series is incredible and the story is super important to ARR. I know why they don't since its considered "too hard", but they could also make a "normal mode" or something that is easier for causal players.

    Cape Westwind, Castrum and Prae need to be redone to be completed with trusts.

    Fates need to have bi colored gem stones in ARR zones and xp bonus fates applied like they did in expansions after HW.

    All classes need to have an AOE combo before lvl 40.

    I just finished ARR last night on an alt so your question's timely. I would refresh/change the following:

    1. Make all Splendors Vendors/Revenant's Toll tomestone vendors sell all levels of tomestone gear. Explanation below.

    2. Give people purposefully queuing for ARR dungeons/raids/trial Post-50, from Sashtasha all the way through The Crysalis, 1.5x the experience they would earn by doing an at-level dungeon.

    3. Give people purposefully queuing for ARR dungeons/raids/trial Post-50 twice the tomestones.

    4. Do Not increase XP gain for people going through ARR content the first time or on an alt other than the normal main job above 50 bonus.

    WTF you talking about? I stopped doing *all* side quests somewhere around lvl 15 because I was level 25. After that I only did MSQ content, hunting log, and some roulettes for GC seals to get promotions which still kept me at least 10 levels above MSQ quests. I ended up being 3/4 through 58 by the time I started Heavensward.

    Explanation for above: Because I couldn't get to Idyllshire after reaching 50, I had nothing to spend my tomestones on. It would be a great QOL change to be able to purchase any and all levels of tomestone gear starting in ARR. As it stands, I'm going to be full up on tomestones and past level 60 before I can get to the vendor which bothers me. I'd much prefer to have the full set of 60/70/80 gear ready to go as soon as I hit those levels, regardless of what expansion I'm in at the time.


    5. Add bicolor gemstones to FATEs and let us use them to buy crafting materials and other items like we can in ShB.

    Coils would need an easier version (more easy than normal) then if it's mandatory. The difficulty level of Coils doesn't match any content near its level range by far. I worry that this might make certain hardcore raiders feel slighted though...

    personally..

    I'd buff the exp from FATES, whilst also incorporating the gemstone system into it with various knick-knacks and mounts, expand upon the hall of the novice to create hall of the advanced, and attach appropriate rewards for incentive. Not gear-wise, but a minion/mount as away of bridging the gap a little bit, teaching players 'intermediate-advanced' mechanics. Further to this I would personally expand more upon guildhests, again as an additional measure to help 'mend' the disparity in ability between players.

    I would have job quests also become mandatory beyond a certain point in the story. Level 40 MSQ seems appropriate for obtaining your job, at the very latest, and then maintain this by requiring the final quest of the base game require Level 50 job quest completion. Which is something I would also continue into HW.

    Job quests should be required for all progression through the MSQ, regardless of expansion.

    get rid of all the deadend paths in 2.0 dungeons

    rework the 3 starting dungeons, nothing says fun like falling asleep in copperbell waiting for the bombs to blow up multiple time so the boss can be killed
