For what it's worth that's only like half of the zone, and you never have to go back there. Things also pick up quite a lot once you get past the Loporitts.

MOST. ANNOYING. ZONE. I especially hated running back and forth trying to figure out how to navigate the destination points of some of the quests, without the benefit of flying. Because some areas are hidden until later on, it's hard to see how to get from one point to another. And yes, the missions the Lloporitts(sp?) send you on are kind of mindless and feel like annoying filler quests.
