    Should I get endwalker if...

QTE spam and Nier-raid-like fights are a no go?

I can't spam buttons until death do us part, my hand and I. Hurting myself for fun is not an option.
    I remember https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...re-QTE-please.

Fights like those from Nier Raids, mostly 1 and 3, are... not fun.
Raids where I have to keep looking everywhere and fast aren't easy. Moving the view to catch fast moving clues, understanding what means in 3d what I see in 2d... while I have to keep up with my DPS because those fights never end is not fun.

Those are issues to me, I don't say they are to everyone. Many players can handle them, or even don't see what issue they can represent, yet they do to me.

Also, If you know of anything else that can be a real issue, could you please post it?
Other players can have issues I don't have and one single thread to gather them could be useful!

People overclick for QTE, in fact you barely even need to spam the button itself to be honest. Infrequent clicking is just as fine. The bar doesn't always need to be topped off..

As per the keeping an eye out, not sure what to suggest beyond just taking the time to learn both the encounter and your rotation. Everything is a dance, and once you learn that dance you should really be able to execute it without much forethought. After long enough you'll just have the encounters mapped out. It's just a matter of a steeper learning curve for you or anyone that struggles with this and a question of whether you want to take that curve or not.

A one-fails-all-fail QTE doesn't entice me to try easy-clicking. I can't allow myself to try that knowing others insanely spam for safety... because it's a one-fails-all-fail QTE.
Maybe many players have tried and succeded, I'll never know because I'll never do it again. The idea of others maybe suffering for my trying isn't worth it.

That steeper learning curve is maybe the reason I don't like Nier 1 and 3. I learned ALL other fights while playing them. Thus, I still enjoy playing them again and again. Having to learn a fight (a full raid!) from video tutorials before I play it is, to me, the best way to be disgusted by said fight.
I leave that steeper learning curve to hadcore/savage/extreme raids made for hadcore/savage/extreme players.

Button spam QTEs recognise any button. You don't need to aggressively mash anything, whether you're on keyboard or controller, you can gently roll your thumbs/hands around your controller/keyboard, and easily max out the meter.

There is one QTE sequence as part of a solo duty and two trials that I would classify as something you consider "no go" in Endwalker. Your team can probably carry your body over the finish line though.

You can make your own choice if this is a dealbreaker for you.

My perception of this is...feels like Endwalker is a no go for OP.

First of all, visual mechanics are not just an Endwalker thing, it's pretty much scattered all over the game. To be fair, I'd say visual mechs begin to ramp up with stormbloodbut yeah, they're here to stay and it just seems to me like the devs really like to make use of them to add variety to all the raids.

Fail all QTE? That's a reference to Seat of Sacrifice I believe ( I could be wrong). There hasn't been one like that since and besides, they've really, really made those things easy since then.

Usually, I'd be the person to say "keep at it, you'll get better, etc" but this is your time and money we're talking about so...maybe EW is not for you. Sorry.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

For button spamming, there are third party solutions like "turbo" key and even gamepads with "turbo" mode for buttons (does the fast mashing for you).

As for story raids, i never seen anyone willing to insult anyone for being down, or dead and finishing the fights, it just happens in story mode, maybe getting a Free company that can understand that and help you go through these phases / fights in the story. You might even find people that would happily help.

The Nier raids and a lot of alliance raids are often optional and not part of the main story.

I am a complete casual. I just play for the where the story goes next. If its a solo duty i have a hard time with i just fail the duty and flip it to easy mode.
I will do some hard content but not extreame.

Its totally OK to play how you want to play

Almost every fight in Endwalker have visual cues, some have even more "look for cues in the arena" than Nier, like the first Trial and Pandemonium Turn 4.

I'm not a fan of it either but it is what it is. Follow the first healer that looks like they know what they're doing and you'll do ok for most of Pandemonium and especially the first and last Trial that are completely full of this.

    .
if you are on pc and use m/kb there are also autoclickers, simple programs that simulate you hitting your mouse button 100 times a second or whatever you want, so that problem while existing can be easily worked around.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now about the raid issue, that depends on you i would say. the 24 man raids have a lot bigger areas, quit possible you could work better in the normal mode raids simply because the areas are smaller, but even if not i would say is that really important ? obviously if you totally want to do some form of raiding at least than sure, but there are many other things to do in the game so that by itself i wouldn't say is a reason not to buy endwalker.

just one small thing, you mentioned having to watch all these things while you have to keep up with your dps. on that i will say that for normal modes no one really will care if you do subpar dps so don't sweat it, people will care a lot more about someone killing the group by failling mechanics, having someone doing subpar dps (if that is the result of you focusing 90% of your energy on mechanics) is basically expected when people use df.

IF you wanted to do savage though i will give you a completly different advise, which is to stop thinking about your dps all the time. in general if you actively want to do savage you should get your rotation so hard into your muscle memory that you "just do it" instead of actively watching out for it which would somewhat solve your problem i guess ? kinda depends if you can reach that point, in the end though its mostly doing enough repetitions that it becomes second nature and nothing else.
