Of course they are hard for new players.....it is content intended for level 83+ players.
If you are boosting, you reap what you sow.

But your friend passed Shinryu, Tsukuyomi, Titania, Innocence, and SoS…
How is Zodiark ‘a bit extreme’?
It introduces new mechanics, like most story centric trials have done in every expansion. Lots of people have trouble with the spinning floors and looking up to consider where the stars are going to fall without having markers on the floor.
I don't think it's extreme, or especially difficult in contrast to the learning curve of other content the first time doing it, mind. But I can see how some people do.
Not really "new" anymore if you're doing Endwalker MSQ, but ok.
I personally think the difficulty is okay but I think this is something that can and should be adjusted. I feel there should be a Gambit system for our Trust NPCs and I should be able to change who they focus on and at what percentage they start healing.
We had this in FFXII in which other games like Dragon Quest Orgins used this same system.
Let us users program our NPCs or adjust them
this has to be a troll thread. like come on...
you are trying to say.. your friends went through NINETY levels.... did all the other trials... and the last one was "too hard"
please explain, in detail, how this is possible. unless, as some have pointed out, you told your friends "no need to do the rest of the game, end game is where its at!" and they bypassed literally 90% of the game and learning the mechanics. If that is the case, the problem is not the final trial is too hard, its that they have you as a friend who didnt let them learn in the first place.
Any new fight is hard until you learn the dance. Keep at it.
I wouldn't consider myself a good player being quite casual and I learn better by doing rather than watching videos/reading guides so it always takes me a couple of attempts to learn a mechanic (and heck, there's still mechanics in-game I struggle with) but I would say that wasn't the hardest fight in the game.
Granted took three attempts to beat it the first time around (manly due to other party members dying to mechanics) but we got it together and had it completed within 30 minutes. I'd agree with most other responses though - after 90 levels you shouldn't be struggling too much that fight (unless you boosted which tbh - no new player should really do and I never understand why they would), there's certainly harder ones along the way.

Validation <<ERROR>>
I'm a casual.... I unsub for long periods of time and come back for the story. It's not just boosters that had trouble. Thankfully, there was a player that everyone could follow around to avoid mechanics. He/She is a saint. For people that play consistently, I am sure it was easy. For those that say increasing levels = increased difficulty, I don't agree. We aren't or shouldn't all be on a linear path to raiding. You character gets stronger, so it should offset.
The amount of imminent death mechanics is becoming absurd to me.... fine if mechanics are punishing, but we aren't all trying to raid, and frankly we aren't all trying to memorize every fight in this game. Wasting gray matter on team jump rope isn't my idea of fun.
Hmm... "I had to die 3 times to a new boss before succeeding ! 3 times ! Can you imagine that ?! it's unfair !"
Oh... Anyway..
