"Sense of Accomplishment" all i want from 2.0
I think it's really lacking in xiv at present. partly due to the solo heavy aspect in some situations.
"woo i finished the main scenario, so what?" it just doesn't feel like you've really achieved something and i feel that comes partly from the solo heavy aspect of it.
i'm going to relate to xi and some people will rage. but you took 6 people do go and defeat shadow lord in rank 5-2 and you felt a sense of pride when you beat it or even the higher rank fights like the 9-2 one. you managed to get through that and you felt like you'd achieved something big. where you beat future perfect or whatever the last one is called on xiv and you feel kinda like "is that it?"
the expansions were cool to. so many things that in turn had big impacts, from clearing the 3 prommies and being able to access whole new zones and areas to that sense of awesomeness when you'd managed to beat 6-4s airship fight or even divine might. taking your first real steps in sky or sea. the stories were awesome and you always felt like you'd achieved something from them by the way in which the game changed as you did them. huge feelings of greatness the first time you entered the ru'ann gardens or al'taiu. something i feel really lacking in 14. i'd love to see a main scenario that requires groups of people to do adds a sense of challenge/accomplishment similar to xi.
another thing in xi was i could home from work seek a party and go spend 2 or 3 hours exping and gain 1 maybe 2 levels and even then you'd feel like you'd achieved something because there was neary always that new piece of gear you could finally equip. or that new ws unlocked or something. in xiv i can go to natalan grind like crazy get 5 or 6 levels and think meh....
overall there was so much more of a sense of accomplishment and thats what made xi great. i dont want xiv to be xi-2 but if it can inherit the same sense of accomplishment from awesome storylines and such then it will be awesome. right now it just feels like a time sink and it pretty much is until 2.0

I already see this thread is turning into a train wreck so I'ma chime in before the carnage...
I just want my god damn blue magics back
And of course bigger bosses requiring a alliance of 20+ ppl to fight![]()
All I want is to see the active/passive mode gimmick be scrapped.
Your comment is a perfect example of why SE does not want gear swapping in XIV as they have stated.
SE didn't fail on macros for XI, they refused to change the system for a smaller % of the community as they never wanted or intended to have gear swapping in the game, period.
Spellcast wasn't a fix for the macro system, it originally was set parameters to switch gear automatically based on actions and became more complex/diverse each update to satisfy an original low % of the community which forced it on the rest of the community.
When you look at the overall picture. Gear swapping forced a community to go from simple macros to automation. Yet alot of that original % that forced gear swapping cried for simple spellcast templates because they refused to learn it to begin with.
All in all it came down to selfishness. Which is why I agree with SE not adding gear swapping capability to Active mode or built hate to XIV.
you may want to invest in a dictionaryI wish i knew (From that quote) which gear changed your class. As far as I know, only Weapons and Stones change Class (then Job with Stones), no Gear (Body, Hands, Legs, etc) changes class im pretty sure, so I think the rep must of forwarded this across wrong, no one really "Swapped" weapons in XI because you lost TP, so I dont think anyone cared about weapon swapping, only gear swapping.
i second netcode ha

Optimized Netcode/Server Structure
PC version not degraded/limited in quality/performance cause of a Console Port.
combo's are shit it took more skill to pop out a good WS + WS = Elemental weakness then add MB for added DMG1. Linkshell Message - Will be in 2.0
2. For the game to Activate my crossfire- the new engine will support this... i hope
3. Gear Swaps (I know some people hate this but i hate staying stuck in one spot for 3min because i switched a ring) Will never happen, SE said no and that it will never change their mind. One of the reasons for this Is that your weapon controls your job and SE also plans to prevent you from changing jobs in some future dungeons/raids. Will never ever happen pple get over it and stop asking.
4. HNM's (epic dragons etc) Odin in 2.0 sounds like HNM. Don't think we will ever have HNM but we will have something smiliar
5. Sky/Sea Type content (no more Instance) Yoshi-P said he wanted this for a future expansion, after 2.0
6. Be able to trade more then 4 items - Maybe 2.0... new UI
7. Real Airships (Not a CS) - Will never happen thank god for the skippable CS. Pple who ask for 10 min airship rides dont play much. Now if they put airships that travel you between crystals and not just cities as an alternative then yes i am all for seeing you travel there for the whole time.
8. More weapon Variety (not to be locked to a job or class by your weapon) - Won't happen the whole class/job system depends on weapons. They would have to re-do the scratch system from scratch which means re-doing battle and a whole bunch of systems from scratch which wont happen.
9. Crafters Signature plates for armor (So crafters can be admired like on XI) - Coming in 2.0
10. Skillchains (Make People have more fun with weapon skills) - Not sure what you mean by that. Aren't combos already skill chains? You mean more combos?
