Yea it might look harmless but it's injecting code and manipulating game code as shown on the YouTube videos earlier.

there is a fine distinction between alot of the QoL plugins and texture mods, and the flat out cheating mods like the ones that streamer got caught with.Yea it might look harmless but it's injecting code and manipulating game code as shown on the YouTube videos earlier.

Technically there is no difference between them. You can make a "moral" distinction and say, there are "good mods" and "bad mods". But this is plain double standards.
Cheers
Huge difference between using a hook to catch a sitting animation from a chair and using automated UI tools that display incomming/outgoing data from the game such as the ones in those videos.Yea it might look harmless but it's injecting code and manipulating game code as shown on the YouTube videos earlier.

Buts its not effecting the whole game. Its only on the client side. If it was like you know wall hacks, speed hacks, vacuum hacks, etc then yesYea it might look harmless but it's injecting code and manipulating game code as shown on the YouTube videos earlier.

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
But thats the thing, in there eyes all mods and plugins are exactly the same. To totally root out the really bad one like the one shown, the pvp ones, and some of the worse 18+ ones is to go scorched earth since there current policy with mods and plugins is what it is. And the worst part is that these mod(bot) makers know this. As much as people want to stand on that hill that QoL mods don't hurt anything, they are still sadly illegal and if someone with bad intentions have the stuff to prove that you are using these they can report you and get you taken down.
We already have the perfect example with the 4 & 5 chan DSR salt fueled crusade against mods that had streamers shook and scared. They were successfully getting people taken down for any type of mod and after Yoshi-P's response that supported that sentiment just made it worse. It wasn't just ACT or Cactbot but any and every mod that any streamer had.
I keep forget the type of community this. People minding there business doing what they want and people just come out of the underground just to do some crazy stuff like thatBut thats the thing, in there eyes all mods and plugins are exactly the same.
