This entire thread is toxic towards people who choose to enjoy in different ways. If two consenting adults want to take NSFW screenshots and want to post them to their NSFW community, who the hell cares. It’s different if they’re going around taking NSFW ss of others and using it to harass them (I have never seen that happen as most are just taking pics of their own character). It seems most rules in the ToS are pointed toward preventing harassment. All the OP is trying to do is ruin the game for ppl that want nothing to do with all this hate and anger. That is more of a harassment than the mods themselves.

I'm very interesting that this game should be protected in a better way than it is today so you are very wrong there. I have been playing this game since 1.0 minus the down time for 2.0 launch. And I love this game. It's a beautiful game with a great story and many nice memories. In the beginning it wasn't much talk about using unauthorized third party software. This is something that have been come more and more of later. And this game on the PC version does not come with any protection mechanism against this. So the use of unauthorized third party software will grow and they will become more and more advance. Now In the later years the mods are on Free Companies discord servers and being talked about using without mention that is not allowed and consequence. I dont belive Square Enix doesnt care, GM told me to report the player through their Support page using "Report a case to the Special Task Force". And my authoritarian desires sure heavy mod users might feel that. But someone should not feel bad posting screenshots that are "vanilla" and getting comments that pictures didn't have certain features because of mods.

So many words to say that you're jealous of the attention that other people's online game pictures get, but that yours don't.

I find it intersting how many that are feeling "attacked, witch hunted and now harassed" over that they are breaking the game rules. And again, not naming anyone. The mods will someday be much bigger than they are today with all kinds of interface mods and even mods that will help players with mechanics. And this game is supposed to be without mods.

So, if this game playable without mods, why do you guys care? The developers are against mods, so there won't ever be a fight that relies on them. And if you see someone discriminating against players without mods, just report them, and they will get punished for harassment. Why do you want others (SE) to actively hunt down the people using mods if they don't affect you?

During ARR I played this game with a friend of mine who has trouble focusing if a lot of things are happening. So if there was no one in voice to call enemy attacks out he'd use ACT as a help to play an alarm sound when certain abilities were being cast. It was the only way for him to not screw up.
So yeah it made the game easier for him but otherwise he'd have had a horrible time because of a condition he can't control. As long as mods don't automate mechanics I don't really give a damn if people use them for accessibility or just to have less of a challenge.
Personally I enjoy challenging content so I won't make use of those tools and as long as they don't hinder my enjoyment of the game I don't really have anything to complain about.

It's indeed interesting that some people want to enjoy a peaceful cocoon that has been a grey zone for years, adjusted to what SE asked them, and are now peacefully doing whatever they want in their communities.

Why do you care more for "the game rules" than actual SE, except out of jealousy or a wicked sense of justice that presides over freedom ? Just let go, you'll be much happier with no fight to fight.

This applies to shaders and mods, IDC for Cactbot, but then again, why would you care if some people get an "easy mode" ? Maybe they can't do without them because of handicaps, maybe they just want to enjoy the content in an easier way... The fact they kill things don't take those things away from you. Being difficult to see is part of the encounter. Someone having an undisclosed "handicap" is one thing but when the solution trivializes the encounter into a game of simon says, no thanks.

This isn't WoW and I've personally never encountered a group that requires plugins (since that's what I'm assuming you're referring to) to be a part of it in 2 years of daily play. That's most likely even reportable.

Just that this is not happening in FF XIV because the developer does not support these tools. There is no content trivialized by using any kind of third-party tool. The same as there are no groups making it mandatory to use any kind of third-party tool to join them, because they would get punished for harassment. Also, people are saying for years now that ACT will destroy this game. What happened? Correct: nothing. Because, again, the developer does not officially support third-party tools and will ban anyone using them to discriminate against players not.

It doesn't happen because the community fights back against mods and here we are in a thread trying to justify mod use because it doesn't effect me personally.
