So long as whatever your running doesn't give you an unfair advantage I personally don't care what add-on/mod/plug-in you use. You want to risk a ban over wanting to /doze wherever you want you go right ahead, its not my place to say otherwise.

Just a friendly reminder.
YOU ACQUIRE NO OWNERSHIP OR PROPERTY RIGHTS IN ANY CHARACTER OR OTHER IN-GAME VIRTUAL GOOD, AND ARE ONLY LICENSED TO USE SUCH CHARACTERS AND ASSETS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR FFXIV SERVICE ACCOUNT SUBJECT TO THE CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN THE AGREEMENTS. YOU AGREE THAT YOUR FFXIV SERVICE ACCOUNT AND ANY VIRTUAL GOODS AND CHARACTERS DO NOT HAVE ANY MONETARY VALUE. SQUARE ENIX MAY SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE FFXIV SERVICE ACCOUNTS, CHARACTERS, VIRTUAL GOODS, OR THE SERVICE ALTOGETHER, AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE OR LIABILITY TO YOU.from the famous EULA that you all AGREE to when installing and using the game.2.1 Cheating and Botting. You may not create or use any unauthorized cheats, bots, automation software, hacks, mods or any other unauthorized software or hardware designed to modify the Game and gameplay. In addition, you may not take advantage of game system bugs and exploits during gameplay.
I mean yes it's true that ofc all players have to "agree" to that. Still there is a reason why gaming companies "tolerate" modding to a certain extend and a better reason why they have to put these rules into the ToS/EULA in the first place. They have to set up these rules to shift the blame on any occurring damage or violation of laws in certain countries to the user and not themselves. Just for example imagine the worst case everyone can imagine, naked playermodels. This is stuff that would get you into jail in some arabic countries where the game is also available, that said without judging any of said countries, their culture so i don't judge on that. But SE is international available mostly, so it has to have these ToS/EULA in place so they can say it is the user and not them.Just a friendly reminder.
from the famous EULA that you all AGREE to when installing and using the game.
Fact is SE can't just implement anti cheat software, which they said would be illegal in some cases in some countries as far as i remember, cause shareholders would blast them to oblivion. More people than you think use different mods and ofc damage meters and all that stuff so if they decided to nuke all these players accounts tomorrows stockmarket would crash basically on SE since they get millions of dollars from those players. Especially those who use mods also buy mostly stuff from the mooglestore. And i don't think any shareholder would like to see a company cut their playerbase in half basically and drive away hundreds of thousand of customers from their products and create a negative enviroment.
So yeah, it is as always at the end about money. That is the reason why we see people getting banned if they get too bold, as a example that it is forbidden. But at the end they turn a blind eye on it cause otherwise it would murder their business.
At the end just a little funfact, modding is widely hated in japan and not only cause it can get you into jail. Modding of any kind, even consoles you own i heard, can get you into serious troubles and will ruin you financially and in the worst case gets you a good amount of prison time. It's kinda funny they have no problem with the nsfw side of stuff if it is fanart but as soon as nsfw touches the game they hate it instantly. Just to share a bit of japanese culture with you fellas!

Oh, it sure does affect all of us. Certain twitter accounts and discords are full of screenshots that make this game look like it's some sex club with all kinds of modifications. Those screenshots get out there and even on certain live twitch streams.
And it's even players that are afraid of other players with heavy mods installed attach a "dong" on their female characters that could easy be posted online on certain community's.
We all players did Agree to this.2.1 Cheating and Botting. It still doesn't affect you. Except if you're a puritan that don't want anything that can be perceived as remotely sexual in your life, but the social media perception of the game is SE's problem, not yours.Oh, it sure does affect all of us. We all players did Agree to this.
People are using auto clicker macros to stay logged into the game while they sleep and go to work. This is probably doing more harm despite seeming harmless.

The only "mod" They tolerate is gshade. Every other mod they hate with a passion and I've heard they will even bully people of their own culture if caught with mods of any sort. Including Bard macro players. It's kind of fascinating how entirely different their community views this topic compared to NA.
Blatant bullying is uncommon, but it absolutely isn't endorsed, neither it's looked at as a "you do you" type of a thing. The only "mod" They tolerate is gshade. And I'm pretty sure that GShade is tolerated/popular only because DevTeam officially stated on Forum that it's not against ToS (though it's not officially supported), and maybe also because it doesn't mingle with in-game fails which is what Japanese players are mainly against for.

I feel like you're unaware that it's basically "Don't ask, don't tell." when it comes to modding. They don't care as long as you're not a hugely popular person posting pron of your character online and getting them in hot water. They're also not going to put anything into our PCs to monitor it and they've said that multiple times. Same situation with BMP: "Don't get us sued for you playing music and we'll turn a blind eye."The only "mod" They tolerate is gshade. Hate to be that person but if anyone wants to use mods so badly, save up for a PC over time. They won't be put on console.
