Anyone on Balmung getting rid of an apartment?

I'm about to give up on the hope of getting housing of any kind. At least someone was nice enough to let me color my chocobo.

You can buy a room in any housing section in a hotel, where there is usually a chocobo keep infront.

You can also join an FC and buy a room in your FC house.

I know a full house feels better, but there are other options for now. Maybe you can also wait for next patch when the Ishgard area will open up with new housing slots.

Balmung has no available apartments. They truly are sold out unlike other worlds.

A lot of FCs can't get a house, either. People shouldn't have to leave a FC that has their friends just to join a random FC with strangers for the sake of getting a room.

Ishgard will help temporarily but Balmung likely will find everything full again a few months later. SE needs to do what they told us could be done when apartment buildings were first added - increase the number of wings per building. Being instanced housing, that's easier to accomplish than adding entire wards.

There are some valid reasons for staying on congested servers like Balmung - social ties, like minded FCs etc.

But for many players, they would be better off transferring out of Balmung to a Crystal server with less housing demand. Although currently, all NA servers have high housing demand, Balmung is a special hell. Other Crystal servers have plenty of apartments.

Plus we have world visit and in the future, SE will implement cross data centre visit and add new servers to all DCs based on the lodestone/live letters.

You could try creating a character on a different server and buy an apartment then and decorate there. You won't be able to use your main but you'll at least have access since housing servers won't get much love until they can get the hardware for other things first. Have a friend trade the housing items that you own to your other character. It's a big runaround, yes... But it's the best advice I can give other than leave your guild for one with a house which you obviously won't do :P
